With all the turmoil in Wisconsin and other states, we should all wonder just WHO is behind the whole thing?

well, it's outfits like the American Legislative Exchange Council for one.

Put me on that list . I don't want anyone to lose their jobs but the flat out greed is in no way sustainable . In California most state and municiple employees pay zero towards their benefits or pensions . They have the 5 year $3,500.00 program whereby they can purchase 5 years of pensionable service for $3,500.00 and retire at 25 year with 30 years of full benefit . The state has to pay half of the cost of their childrens education whether the employee is still working or retired . They can stack the final year instead of a pension being the average of the last 5 years . A 70 grand per year employee can work unlimited overtime in any department then add in sick days and vacation to make 120 grand in the final year and that's what the pension is based on . The tax payers pick up the full bill and there is not only no money left , they are untold billions in debt . It's a drop compared to the thousands and thousands of New York firefighters who are all heros since 9/11 and can retire with full everything after 20 years . A 40 year old who never paid a dime towards the benefits and pension never having to work again . Wisconsin , 6% for benefits and 12% of pensions asked which is 40% less than federal civil servants contribute and 60% less than workers in private industry contribute and the union answer is , no way . Tenure , 3 years on the job and the worst employee on the planet can never be fired . Absolutely great in prosperous affordable times but those times are long gone , most of the states are technically bankrupt and everyone has been forced to bite the bullet except state and municiple employees . Contrary to the propaganda Wisconsin is over 3 billion dollars in debt so if the unions win there will be mass layoffs and skyrocketing taxes . Union solidarity is a hoax when 80% of the employees are willing to see the bottom 20% get the axe so they don't have to pay the 6% and 12% which is about $1,800.00 per year per employee and not a bad deal to keep a cash for life job with full benefits and pensions . 18 million in the private sector have lost everything and 50% of the country is on some form of social assistance as well as 22,000 active duty military who have had their homes foreclosed . No matter how it's spun the general public has little sympathy for civil servants with a cush gig who refuse to pay anything and hang the total bill on the tax payers who are already under a tremendous burden and the politicians the unions have bought and paid for . The country is 14 trillion in debt and there is no money and none of this is affordable or sustainable , and it's everywhere . How's that , Change You Can Believe In going ? From 1776 until 2 years ago the messiah has borrowed and spent twice as much money than every previous president and administration combined back to the dawn of time to give everyone their free sh*t , except that nothing is free and now many of the states want a bail out because they promised free sh*t also that there is no money left to deliver . WW11 cost 500 billion dollars and the messiah has spent 8 times that much in two years , all borrowed and only the unions of the civil service believe that it's sustainable . You can't believe in Dr. Ron Paul and Austrian economics and believe in this on a federal , state , municiple or personal level and everyone except government employees knows it but they still want their free sh*t . While there are azzhole union busters but for every one of them there are 1,000 wanting to maintain the status quo , get free sh*t and hang the bill on everyone else who doesn't have the money .
