Hi everyone was just on Paddy Power's website and saw this
PaddyPower ET Bets

Well apparently the USA are odds on to make first contact closely followed by China and Ireland (Paddy Power is an Irish company).

Just thought this was interesting and would be to ats too. I'd also like to know your thoughts on the matter and If anyone is going to place a bet?

I personally put a euro on ET life proven in 2012 (just seemed right).

The UN will announce it as a group and Paddy Power will rake all the cash in. Sorry, in a bit of a cynical mood.

These things seem to go in cycles , Here's a story from 07 that bookies cut odds on finding aliens due to the discovery of a "second Earth " Gliese 581c .

He said the bet is William Hill’s third most popular “novelty bet”, behind the Second Coming (1000/1) and the return of Elvis (5000/1).

I guess the reason they're bringing it up again is the possible discovery of Tyche .

Haha thats likely damn bookies always clean up I reckon there the only buisness making money in Ireland since 2008 ha.

Just think how satisfying it would be to collect on a bet for the existance of alien life though haha.

I actually have a mate that works in PP's dial-a-bet service taking bets over the phone and when I asked him he said you'd be surprised by the amount of people who bet on this and the amount of money being put up.

Interesting!

They must have taken a lot of money considering they are offering such short odds.........3/1 USA and 4/1 China.

I wonder if Obama has a paddy power online betting account??

I'd put my money on Scotland.

Apparently Sean Connery retired so could can develop his psychic abilities to contact and channel ETs.

It's obviously based on the basis of percentage of dickheads per square mile, and life as we know it!

The ET bets are nothing new, I seem to remember bets in the late 70's and 80's. I guess it depended how much media was showing aliens and saucers in the day. I think its safe to say that there were a few betting tabs in 1947
