Without properly funded education, the young will remain untaught. When you pay for peanuts, you get monkeys.

There can be no compromise when it comes to proper education, unless there were no intentions to teach the young but to make them slaves, as UK is attempting to do. Slaves need no education.

Without Unions, Corporation Tyrants will rule and untooth those that dare to speak out to challenge them for fairer distribution of work assignments and pay. If these tyrants are successful, the next to go will be the sacred Constitution, bit by bit until dictatorship rules the land.

I support an end to all bloating from all sides. Sadly, the bloated never want to go on a diet.

The Unions are bloated and choose to spend money in ways that can just baffle the mind. SEIU spent $60 million on Obama's 2008 campaign. 60 million dollars!! to get their ace in the hole.

Unions pay non union members to protest and picket on behalf of the Union Members. They have no idea why they are even picketing. Where are the outraged union members?

Unions outsource at the picket line

You don't understand how the USA works. Some teachers in the USA do get peanuts, but what happens is when these schools need more money they bypass appropriate voter rights, and increase tax millage's, without voters consent. This is corrupt, and done because of school boards and unions that have to many administrator's.

I agree teachers deserve a good pay, but when the country is in a virtual depression salaries need to be adjusted accordingly.

In the real world when things get tough everyone needs to tighten their belts, not take an arrogant stance, that includes unions, politicians, and everyone else that is in the economic crisis situation.

The common folks are having a hard time paying taxes in the USA period, so I would wager that someone making 100k, full medical benefits, and retirement plans are not going to get much sympathy right now.

I especially love when the teachers unions move to block merit reviews and merit increases in pay. They want across the board increases for all. Regardless of performance and achievement. Plenty of teachers are just riding the wave to catch the next gravy train and they are rewarded at the same level of the teachers who actually give a damn about the achievement of the students.

I could go on and on about curriculum development and autonomy being taken away from the teachers. I am not anti teacher. The unions have degraded the system with the help of government intervention. We can all agree that the nation's public education system is in shambles. The true needs of the students are being ignored. Period. They are more concerned with what kids eat rather than what and how well they learn and achieve. Little junior fails Algebra but at least he is getting his vegetables and soy burger at lunch.

We've got big problems. Simple.

Friend .. Fox news bussed the same core of protesters all over the country for photo ops .. The Tea Party is their Frankenstein (Sarah Palin his bride) designed to control the "rebels" ... ahh I digress...

yes Unions can be/are corrupt ... Those teachers are calling in sick ... you can't fabricate that ...

If you are against bloat .. would you really start with the educational instructors of our children? .. or maybe insist corporations pay their fair share of taxes ..

worry not ... the 2 for 1 Large with two toppings revolution will arrive eventually ... I doubt Dominos will deliver to the Fema camp .. you can damn the Unions from between the bars and pine for the good ol days of 30 minutes or free....

I think there is a place for Unions, because of corporate greed and work conditions. I have work worldwide and know that countries that do not have unions, the workers are exploited and work in unsafe conditions.

The problem starts when they get too much power and start to take advantage of the system, get lazy, complacent, and as arrogant as the corporation they set out to protect their members from.
