[Macho's ONLY!] A gun is a VERY WEAK attitude to carry! Whats the matter with you? Be a Man OK!

Explanation: The thread title is specific, self evident and involves only those members who believe the use of a gun, or any weapon, makes them 1] A Hard Man and 2] Improves their Macho image!

Here is why THEY are WRONG!....

By default of my humanity, OL IS a weapon and I was born with tooth and claw and backed up by THE most DANGEROUS [that caught your Macho attention span yes? ] thing that exists ever anywhere in the universe AKA A Human brain filled with an educated and instictively curious mind of an observer.

Those who loves guns & weapons and think that they are "all that!" need to REALIZE that YES weapons are smart powerfull tools but ALSO that Macho men don't need such tools ever... as Machismo requires NOTHING. . its that VAIN! And to use anything else except oneselves own god granted INHERENT abilites is a failure of willpower and ability and lacks any credible argument as regards to BEING Macho!

What is more dangerous? An angry great ape egotistically weilding a gun in loud desparation for attention. Or the quite gentleman who sits and drinks quietly at the bar? In OL's mind it is the latter as don't be fooled into thinking the wild guy is Macho... the Gentleman is far far more dangerous as they have ALREADY TAMED that wild beast inside them. Self Control! Do you possess it?

I'd like to carry a gun so I can shoot any one who emasculates me.

And sometimes I use my pistol to blow the lock off my rifle so when I have been drinking, and I forget where I left the keys to my trigger locks...then I get a cab downtown to go shooting so I don't have to drink and drive...

Ever been in a real dangerous situation? Or live in a dangerous place, or even just in isolation where it would take the authorities a long time to reach you? There are lots of reasons and situations to have guns in this wretched world. Of course, acting like a toughguy idiot with a gun is not only disrespectful and immature, it will get you into fast fast fast trouble at the wrong moment. So with the rights to use a gun come the responsibility to not be an idiot with it.

I am a trained martial artist and can hold my own in unarmed combat but as my Dad used to say; when someone is shooting at you it sure is nice to have something to shoot back with... As long as there are bad people roaming the earth that could care less about yours and my ideals of brotherhood and loving one another there will be a need for self defense. We can't just let the armies of darkness march all over the earth willy nilly.

In all honesty, I have yet to meet a gun owner who carries and goes around thinking he/she is "macho" because of his/her gun on them. He/she may be proud of his firearm, and impressed or satisfied with it, but not acting all "macho" over it.

Perhaps you are speaking about the "gang" types who flash their gang symbols and brag about their guns (or fake guns that look real) so that they can scare people or get attention. Such fools are not the typical CCW gun owner in case you didnt know. And not to mention they usually are of the degenerate type who cant abide by laws so therefore they cannot carry legally.

Are you just mad because you cant carry a firearm? Have you been a bad boy/girl in your life? Trouble with the law? You sound jealous of the fine citizens here who are law-abiding citizens and are allowed to legally carry.

Unsure as to whether this is satirical or not. Think this is about being macho? Instead of questioning WHY people are acting how they are, question the catalyst for it. It's this society... I have a heart of Gold and pure Love. Does NOT stop the thoughts that if poop popped off, I can at least SOMEWHAT defend myself and those immediately around me and, if I'm at my best, me and at least 20 other well-armed people who would USE our guns to kill a mad man rebel robbery from scalping your behind and looting what few valuables you're doubtfully in possession of - THAT's why. I've stepped out of a store and without having control over what was seen, saw somebody have his head blown onto the sidewalk behind and his body drop then had to walk by because only way to get home. As for the innocent by standers, the children, the women, the fathers who are innocent and are killed, I ask you to ask THEM why THEY or THEIR sons carry guns. Accidents happen and nobody deserves to die but I ask you deep spiritual questions; at what point is faith enough to protect? God is NOT going to come down and take a bullet. God isn't going to stop my family, nor yours, from being massacred on site JUST off idealism, racism, or for simple fun or any reason. At what point do we sit back and observe out of fear of "wrong action" and do what we feel is right? At what point do we "interfere" and get involved? Because while YOU sit on the sidelines and complain (I'd use a word implying female dog) about "macho men who use guns", we few men with guns are protecting wimps (not you but extreme gun haters) like you and innocents who can't defend themselves. Well if we're talking about what makes a man a man...

Does being able to screw a different woman a day make you a man?

Does being pumped up with muscle make you a man? (I've seen a bodybuilder that acts really effeminate, and no he was not gay)

Does being able to kill someone easily make you a man?

I will assume that being able to kill someone easily makes you a man, but also the manner you do it.

In my opinion, someone who can beat the # out of you with his bare fist and probably kill you is more a man than a skinny freckled kid with a gun. BUT then again, defending yourself against the neanderthal with your gun is a more logical choice, though, isn't it? BUT all of this depends on a whole lot of other criteria. I do say though, proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, which is the basis of all forms of combat, makes a man more of a man than someone that has been trained to point and squeeze a trigger.

But as someone else pointed out, what makes a man "a man" is really dependent on the state of society at a certain point.

At certain eras, being a good soldier made you more of a man that a family person. At others, being a family person pumping out kids made you more of a man than a soldier. It all depends.

Carrying a gun is defintely not "macho." It's cowardly if used only for the purpose of having 'more power.'

If it's used as a deterrant, that's another story...

At the first sign it is easy the parasites will be out in full force...
