This is the joy of an overly powerful, socialist government.

Stop with this misinfo. NK is not a socialist society. It's a communist society. Misinformation, like this, is the reason why there is an ignorance about socialism in ignorant countries.

"The Socialist Constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is the constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), commonly known as North Korea."

"The constitution establishes North Korea's official name and its status as a socialist state."

Both lines from Wikipedia.
Wikipedia

And let's not forget that U.S.S.R. stands for Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

My country is a socialist/capitalist hybrid country. There are many different types of socialism. It is unfair to say socialism is bad on all levels. That's for another debate. The topic is:

a.k.a> if we don't get food, we will use a nuke we want you to believe we have or we are building one as we speak, so give us some food and we will comply. And what should be done in regards of this.

No food from the USA to North Korea. Not as pacification or for any other reason. Dear Leader is a sociopath. I hate the idea of punishing the people there, but if the situation gets bad enough perhaps there will be regime change.

If you asked me, I would say that If we give them food, it should be personally escorted and handed out by members of whatever country it is that is giving the food.

I mean like, say Canada is sending them food, eh. So Canadian workers should head down to N. Korea and personally deliver the food to the people in the villiages, to ensure the food goes to the needy, and not the greedy.

Maybe at the same time, the workers could give the koreans some tips on escaping, and teach them that N. Korea is not the greatest country in the world

With almost 9.5million estimated troops including reserves you can guess who food aid will go to first and I don't think it will be the people on the ground sadly.
That's almost the same number as the entire population in the state of Michigan and around 7.5million more troops than the US army.

With such a vast army to feed let alone the general population, I just can't see any country making a significant dent in the countries food crisis.

The DPRK carried out nuclear tests in 2006 and 2009 but has yet to show it has a deliverable weapon as part of its plutonium arms programme, however the continue to make threats of a "Nuclear Sacred War" when threatening South Korea.

Sad but short video

Just to save thousands of life's assassinate Kim OR ask him to step down and see where that goes if the crap continues after the fact than the UN should do what they're designed to do and collectively go take care of business. Millions are suffering over this guy, let him pound sand. How much longer will the world allow him to hold others hostage, including his own countryman. I forgot they don't have many resources, silly me.

Well North Korea claims they are socialist, blame them

These people's circumstances are horrific. They can't help it if they have evil incarnate as their leader, and they are in too much misery to stage a revolution or a coup. Too much fear.

If they are hungry and we can feed them, we should. Any way we can minimize their suffering, we should.
What's a few tons of rice to us, when it will give them strength to get through another day?

Because it reduces their distress and lessens the need to resist the "evil incarnate". Hunger is a heck of a motivational force. We should do nothing to help "Dear Leader" retain power.

Just because he is a greedy lunatic, doesn't mean we have to be.

You want to give away some free food? Feed the hungry here, spend your time and money doing that instead of propping up an evil regime.

As much as I would like to disagree with you and sympathize with the people of NK, I must say that your logic seems very sound to me. It's not like Kim's regime's going to give the food to those who need it, let alone tell them where he got it.. We need to withhold aid to NK so the people there will hold their government responsible for the situation, rather than living on American rations while being fed propaganda about how evil America is.

The NK people are suffering at the hands of a psychopath and his experimental government.

If you have time, watch this informative and entertaining short VBS expose on their secret visit (guised as press with the philharmonic orchestra) to NK. I was shocked and I've seen a lot on NK and the abuse there. The anthropological perspective is great.

Wasn't the tea girl lovely, providing she isn't blown up by us or punished by the regime I bet that visit will be amongst her fondest memories, she played a mean ping pong.

Yes it's wild... Other threatening countries get hands out while homeless families starve in middle-America.

"Oh thank you Great Kim Jong-il for this small bit of food that I just found while walking down a road, thank you on behalf of my family, for this great gift. We are ever in your debt for blessing us with your Great presence. We are not brainwashed by your ways at all."

We could take NK over and turn into a mega resort see those beaches, there just asking for condo's and oil rigs
Just think how we can manipulate the brainwash people already, humanity has a price welcome to the real world.
Effective BS management in words that mean other things, lets stuff twinkies down there throats and sell them commericalism and we have a nice lanching platform to hit China from. It just business as usall, move along citizen of twinkies, nothing to see here!

Yes, that whole bit gave me the heebie jeebies. I just can't imagine living in that culture. The ones who manage to make some sort of meager existence away from th gulags have such a deranged perspective of the world...

A lot of food aid that goes to NK is sold on the "black market" in China and other countries. NK actually makes money off of it and lets their people starve. NK was started as an experiment to see how people would develop over time in harsh conditions. Starvation, isolation, violence, gulags, slaughter.... It's the holocaust all over. But no one will help them.

Trying to find a photo of said sold food aid, not finding anything. When I locate one I will edit this post. I've actually seen a few online! Ugh.

Here is an Article About It

There needs to be a new way of actually getting food to people there. The people don't deserve this!!!

All the more reason to send nothing. Those in need won't get it, and Dear Leader will sell it for money to build his nukes. That is a "Lose-Lose" situation for us. Best action here is no action at all.
