I recieved this in my E-mail today and thought it was important.

Washington state bills -- HB1015 and SB5005*

Washington state has introduced HB1015 and SB5005 - Acts to amend the
existing vaccine exemption law (RCW 28A.210.090) to require parents who
request a religious or philosophical exemption to obtain a signed statement
from a licensed medical doctor, naturopath or nurse practitioner that the
parents were provided information about the benefits and risks of
"immunization".

On Friday, HB1015 passed out of the House Rules committee and now will
be voted on as will SB5005. There will be a public hearing on this in
Olympia, and could be _this week_. Since these bills faced literally no
opposition, they are labeled as non-controversial bills which means that if
YOU do _not_ act now, they will likely pass. This possibility is literally
horrifying for those who have been in the trenches protecting parental
rights to make informed medical decisions for their families. If these bills
were to pass, this would set an ominous precedent for the other 49 states to
follow. You can read the full text of the two identical bills in the links
below the bullet points we are making in opposition to these two bills.

*What to do *
Aside from sending this message out to everyone you know, it is imperative
that you join www.NVICAdvocacy.org This is the most fantastic tool we have
for networking our states on important legislation involving proposed
vaccine mandates and expanding upon existing exemptions to required vaccines
for daycare, schools and the workplace. For those in Washington state, they
will be the first to know when the public hearing is in Olympia as well as
having a handy way to contact their representatives at the capitol (on the
right hand side of each state's page.) To hear a powerful message from
Barbara Loe Fisher, director of the National Vaccination Information Center,
on just how important it is to defeat these two proposed bills in Washington
state, go to www.NVIC.org and view the YouTube under "breaking news" that
Barbara put together to inspire _all of us _to do our part and stop these
two bills in their tracks.

*Reasons to oppose HB1015 and SB5005*

*Requiring parents to seek the services of a licensed doctor or naturopath
for a religious or philosophical exemption serves not only as a hidden tax
on claiming a vaccine exemption but also serves as a means of eliminating
these two exemptions altogether, leaving only one kind of exemption - a
medical exemption. No licensed doctor, nurse practitioner or naturopath will
want to take valuable office time away from their patients to provide
information on the risks vs. benefits of vaccination along with the signed
statement that would be required for daycare/school under
the proposed revised RCW.

*There are no provisions spelled out in HB1015 nor SB5005 that cite the
source of the information on vaccine risks and benefits licensed health care
practitioners will be providing to parents who choose a religious or
philosophical exemption to vaccine requirements.

Furthermore, there is no obligation on the part of a licensed health care
practitioner to provide such a statement.

*Health care practitioners rightfully will be leery of providing such a
statement to parents who claim an exemption for non-medical reasons. Can
signing such a statement cause them to be liable if the child contracts
chickenpox, measles or pertussis?

*Parents who choose a religious or philosophical exemption to vaccine
mandates for school or daycare are well aware of the benefits and risks of
vaccinations. Schools and daycares do not publicize the availability of
these two types of exemptions from vaccine mandates so the parent must do
his/her own research into the benefits and risks of vaccines before
researching the exemption laws in the state they reside in. Most parents who
do vaccinate do so for one and/or two reasons:
1) they believe they are required and there is no way out of these vaccine
requirements, and/or 2) they have been told the risks versus benefits from
the CDC, their pediatrician, the media and local health departments.

*The philosophical and religious exemptions to vaccines currently allowed in
Washington are non-medical exemptions. The state has no right to use
licensed medical professionals to question the validity of parents' deeply
held religious convictions or philosophical beliefs.
This fundamental human right to religious freedom without state interference
is what this country was founded upon.
The state also has no right to force a paid relationship with a licensed
medical professional where no such relationship exists nor is warranted.

*Proponents of HB 1015 claim that the high rate of parents who are using one
of these two exemptions have somehow contributed to the recent outbreaks of
pertussis in this state. However, when the Washington state epidemiologist's
office was contacted to find out how many verified cases have occurred among
the unvaccinated, the office was silent on this issue.
This information must be obtained before accusing the unvaccinated of
triggering outbreaks of "vaccine-preventable" diseases.
Epidemiological statistics in California, Texas and Ohio for pertussis cases
in 2010 revealed that over 50 percent of confirmed cases had received all 4
of their DTaP vaccines. In Marin County, California, 89% of children with
pertussis had received all recommended pertussis vaccines.

*A Special Report from the International Medical Council on Vaccinations
entitled "Vaccines: Get the Full Story" was released on February 1, 2011and
signed by 83 health care professionals and scientists, including licensed
M.D.s and MPHs. The entire report is only six pages and is available at
www.naturalnews.com...
With the controversy over the risks versus benefits of vaccines becoming
more and more heated among scientists and medical professionals, if HB1015
and SB5005 passes, this will not only anger Washington citizens but will be
viewed as the legislature pandering to special interests.
Parents are legally and financially responsible for the health care needs of
their children and do not need the state interfering with their ability to
make sound health care decisions for their families.

I must be missing something...why is this a bad thing?

If you have a religious issue with vaccines, all this is requiring you to do is have the normal form (which you already have to fill out, notarize, and return) signed by ANY health professional. You can even just take it to one of the little Minit-Clinics that many drug stores operate.

God forbid someone should have to be given a pamphlet about vaccines that isn't endorse (or more accurately, sold) by Alex Jones.
