When are the American people [the most ignorant people on the planet] going to realize that Republicans are anti-human puppets for the super rich and rich and never vote them in power again.

thinkprogress.org...

The GOP’s proposal includes a slew of cuts to important programs, agencies, and investments, and would be detrimental to job creation, education, and scientific research. But they also specifically zero out many programs, cutting their funding entirely, including:

High speed rail investments ($5 billion)

COPS Hiring (supporting local law enforcement) ($298 million)

High School Graduation Initiative ($50 million)

Weatherization assistance program ($210 million)

National Park Service climate change monitoring and response ($4.5 million)

Corporation for Public Broadcasting ($86 million)

Green Jobs Innovation Fund ($40 million)

Yeah, the "investments" over the past couple years have worked SO well. So we are now $14 trillion in debt, and even with the HUGE cuts that those nasty Republicans are proposing we will add an additional $1.5 trillion in debt. Gosh, wonder who is going to pay for that? The Chinese have decided we are a bad credit risk. No one else wants to prop us up any more. But oh yeah, lets just keep on keepin' on -- see how well it all works out in the end.

That debt was done because of the Bush administration tax cuts for the rich, war in Iraq, and the bailout of the Wall street banks and corporations BY BUSH!

Our entire monetary system is based on debt, there is no way for the government to grow like it wants to without it.

Every move the government makes is going to increase the debt no matter who is "in charge" GET THE FACTS...

High speed rail investments ($5 billion)
High speed rail is a boondoggle. Amtrak cannot even exist without subsidies, why should we believe that this project will ever be self supporting? Enough people will not use this to make the investment worthwhile.

COPS Hiring (supporting local law enforcement) ($298 million)
Why is this the responsibility of the federal government? Local lw enforcement should be paid for locally.

High School Graduation Initiative ($50 million)
The dept of education is a failure. It is a money pit and needs to be disbanded.

Weatherization assistance program ($210 million)
Please show where in the Constitution the federal government is empowered to do things like this?

National Park Service climate change monitoring and response ($4.5 million)
Man made climate change is a hoax. End any and all federal subsidy of any program that has arisen due to this hoax.

Corporation for Public Broadcasting ($86 million)
Not the government's job. Why should my taxes be used to support liberal left wing clap trap?

Green Jobs Innovation Fund ($40 million)
This should be handled on the open market. Get the damn government out of the economy. If "green technologies" are worthwhile and profitable, they will not need government assistance.

We are in a huge financial pit people. Cuts need to be made. Much more than this needs to be cut and cut now. Stop being part of the problem. Cut the budget.

Another partisan OP to a situation requiring a bipartisanship effort to overcome. Everyone will be required to sacrifice, whether we like it or not.

It took both Democrats and Republicans, beginning in 1913, to spend us into the situation we now find ourselves. So when one party makes an effort to reduce spending, they are taken to task for it.

Where would you make spending cuts? Or are you one that believes in raising taxes and spending our way out of this mess?

That is a good question for the libs. Where would you cut? TPTB will not cut the wars, so aside from defense where would you cut?

These things cannot be blamed on a single President. They cannot be blamed on two President's either. Our congress passes laws, not the President. It is the job of our elected representatives to not vote for spending that puts us in debt. Both parties are guilty. The question remains which party is really for the people, if either. It seems they are too quick to defund the people, and when it comes to government's needs they spend like madmen.

Well whoopity do!!!! If they were so worried about the damn deficit they wouldn't have extended tax cuts to billionaires and corporations who keep sending our jobs out of the country!!!

Let's let them keep theirs....and F ourselves.

Sounds great. It's how we've been doing things here the last 30 years so why stop now?

That is what i was trying to say you just gave a better way with words.... but yes nobody can blame a single person because it was many that got us in this situation

Actually -- it is Congress that authorizes all spending -- not the president. No presidential administration has any power to authorize any spending. They can propose -- but that is all. Congress is responsible. So let's see how Congress has spent the money.

Republican Congress 6 years (Bush) -- increase in spending as a percentage of GDP from 18% - 20%.
Democrat Congress 4 years (2 years Bush & 2 years Obama) -- from 20% to 25% of GDP.
Projected spend? Well who the heck knows. It better be downwards. Hey I have an idea: let's just reset the spending level back to the last year of the Clinton administration.

Austerity is the enslavement they will use to get you to pay the illegal debts created by the bankers.
If you fall for it you will become the U$ of Argentina.
If the U$ doesn't have the money necessary to create the best country ever on the face of this earth, then there is a problem.

there is a problem
the demcrats and republicans have had a couple hundred years to figure it out.
they have not.

Replicans recreated the problems that forced the bailout, which make republicans equally responsible for the bailout, and all the associate debt that went with it.

If Obama hadn't tied bonuses to bailout money, we would be a lot deeper in debt right now.
