well spoken.

have you noticed that a lot of this anti-immigrant crap is all about fear?

fear that what your people did to others will now be done to them in turn.

yeah forget the past, wouldn't want them abos and muzzies getting any ideas from euro-history, now.

If you think this is plain old racism & anti immigration them your just missing the point. Suspend you concepts for long enough to take in some new info & you'll see why people are concerned. Do some reading.

Mate i think the problem in today's society is that when you want to discuss immigration you are automatically branded racists and a bigot, sad but true,

Italians, Vietnamese, Greeks, yes they do have their own communities and as I said in my OP, Im not saying that their communities are right either because its another example just the same as the muslim communities of segregation in society.......but these nationalities have "integrated" far better than any nationalities from Islamic backgrounds/cultures.

And how many years did it take for the Greeks and Italians to even partially integrate?

I recall it took MANY years..

Maybe you need to give the Muslims the same amount of time...

How many years are you talking about here, how many generations exactly?
Within one generation all wogs assimilated into doing exactly what the previous one did in my town i know i was one, maybe its different in other towns.
With regards to muslims around here, 60 families of sudanese muslims were given residence and within 6 months there was a massive brawl in a local park between their youths and local aboriginal youth, witnesses estimated up to 100 teens with bats or sticks.
This is rediculous and unprecedented other than a couple of bikie brawls.

Yeah im sure peoples recolections may alter as they get longer in the tooth but i remember my school years quite vividly.
Whenever there was a game of cricket or footy it was always the wogs vs the aussies, but cause i was only half wog one week id be on the assie team the next id be on the wogs lol.
Fights were always one on one if a third man got involved he got sorted, this was the norm and always at the church yard after school.

Couldn't agree more. Avoiding racism is absolutely necessary for the progress of humanity & it's something we will struggle with for a lot longer, but I think living in our progressive western society gives most the impression the world thinks & acts the same as us. We can't possibly understand the true nature of this toxic interpretation of Islam & it's vastly different societal structure without educating ourselves, & we better hurry up & do it. "Nomad" by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, its a must read.

I don't think the Italians and Greeks would have integrated well at all if the exercise was repeated today. People think they know how nirvana works and will stifle anyone who speaks his / her mind and the news would be reporting kids fighting as gang warfare... The media and the police would enforce so many rules nobody would want to speak to anyone.

See how much worse all this has become with the current level of PC. Look at the way white people are guilty of things others do regularly, why...? because they are simply a threat to you doing whatever you want.

If it wasn't for the 1980's we wouldn't have our successful multiculturalism. It would be possible now, but now there's a migrant culture which is as accepting as mainstream Australia.

I don't know how bad the Muslim problem is. We do seem to have a localised type of hater who enjoy our freedoms whilst living amongst us, hating us. Its as if they are on a war footing, propagandising everything and trying to get good footing to overpower the enemy.

I described them that way deliberately. This is the case with any culture that's at war. They'll allow themselves any right and know no shame thinking the collective ideology is honour. My experience with that shows more than just Muslims willing to embark on divisive agenda against the interest of their country-men.

I would say that we need more open dialogue as more needs to be done about fighting corruption. I don't think that demanding "integration" is the answer, but the question "what is the prevailing culture really"? has no clear answer and seems to help new migrants fit in. It gives them something proactive to fight for. They begin to know that they are the ambassadors for their kind AND that we are watching hopefully!

I see no reason why people should stop complaining about Muslims or people from whichever country. Things go bad when people are at war and stop being realistic or honest, banging on about their agenda or hate but failing at being rational and even-headed.

The later part is NOT our culture because WE chose what we are.

I read Infadel written by her, very inciteful read about her upbringing in Somalia and her terrible mother and then her finally getting the guts to escape to the Netherlands, she was one of the lucky ones!

The Greeks Italians etc etc had a lot in common with our Christian society. Islam & the way it is interpreted creates a very different scenario here, this is not the same this time & that is the trap for our country unless our racism gun shy society can open their eyes. It's not a crime to intelligently assess & debate the way our country will look in the future as a result of the decisions we make now. To me this is unquestionably logical.

I agree, it's much harder nowadays with media and the internet, not to mention the silly laws that prohibit the media from mentioning race.
Australia is often seen as racist, as with the Indian issue, but our media is not allowed to print the race of the offenders..
They may well be other Indians but we are not allowed to know..

It's reverse racism to me...

It is

Are you watching Q&A? They are talking about migration.

I think the issue is aggregating itself by casting lore that's a bit extreme (equal opportunity, unequal PC) onto a racial identity and kicking them whey respond in kind. I think its stupid to kill the debate by making sophisticated dialogue impossible.

There are some good sounds. The Indian situation kicked off when they had their Visa's cut short, the visa-factories (colleges) shut down and their ability to work with falsified documents scrutinised.

Agree 100% ,a couple of years ago the police commissioner (Nixon) refused to give Andrew Bolt (jurno) figure's on crime by African gangs in Melbourne, why? i believe it was because it would make them look bad,If a "insert race" person commits a crime the police will not describe them as "insert race",
It's the same if a white gang has a brawl with an ethnic gang, the white gang is described as a gang of racists,

as for the Indian issue, one Indian guy was bashed in a park in footscray late at night,i would not walk thru that park at night alone not for $1000,maybe it was a racists attack or maybe the ass holes that did it would have bashed whoever came along ,One Indian student claimed he was set on fire by white Australian's ,our press had a field day with that story, front page stuff, when the truth came out that he set himself on fire (wanting compensation i believe) it was on page 19 of the herald sun,

Some aboriginals mugged me and a mate a few years ago in the city,we put up a good fight but i had my wallet taken and my mate had his hat stolen, was this a racist crime ? i would say no as most would BUT if a group of white boys had done the same to a couple of aboriginals,it would have been portrayed as a racist crime,go figure, funny thing is a week later i was at ST Kilda beach with some Maori workmates and saw one of the muggers wearing my mates hat ,lets just say my mate got his hat back and leave it at that,

Walking fox will prolly come in and say i deserved to get beaten and my wallet stolen because of some alleged crime my ancestors did to Aboriginals 200years ago, well foxy you can GAGF

It was India that beat up Indian complainants of racism. The response here was terrible and meant to be non-inflammatory. Australia gets labelled racist by a lot of mono-racial countries that traditionally hate white people as that's how they were brought up.

It's not just the bias that wrong, its the way it gets used to encourage other bias'.

And millions upon millions of gun owners here in the states are peacefully integrated with their neighborhoods, yet they obviously go shooting and hunting and like to take their kids along with, much like many non gun owners like to go to their parties and get # faced.

EDIT:

Did not realize this thread has been necroe'd
