Canal officials in Egypt say request was withdrawn, but Iranian state TV says the two ships will cross the strategic waterway that connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean. If the ships cross the Suez Canal, a strategic international shipping route that connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean, it would be the first time since Iran's 1979 revolution that Iranian warships would pass through the canal.

www.haaretz.com...

I didn't realize this was first time in 30 odd years this has occurred...
Hmm, no wonder the MSM is actually covering this.

Who cares?
Let them pass, I don't see why everyone's making such a big deal out of it...

"Oh no, their ships can pass through the Suez canal! We're doomed!".. Right..

As we say on the internet- "Don't feed the troll".

If Israel decides to take action on the ships then their attempted passage takes on some importance. Don't you think?

Wow... Really "sionists".... never heard of them.

I have however heard of "zionists" which regardless of whether it's the truth or not has no bearing in this conversation. The reason it's a big deal is because in the past 30 years no Iranian ship has gone through that canal. On top of it nobody knows what Iran's intentions are. In the past they have supplied many rogue entities with arms and supplies needed to spread extremism, hate, destruction and terrorism. Although I can't say that Iran is evil they certainly haven't made a ton of friends in the international community.

This definitely reeks of showboating and seeing where the new government of Egypt stands. Also it seems that they might want to test Israel to see how empty the threats are considering all the many incidents where they fly into no-fly territories in their area but don't do anything. Inevitably Iran will end up in a fight with someone and so will Israel.
