Well I live in the South East , right on the Thames Estuary. I have an eye on the sky every clear night, and I have never seen a damn thing of them! You are very lucky!

Does anyone know if this will effect Scotland in the central belt.

Im asking as the power has been jumping off and on for the last thirty minutes or so?

There is no form of bad weather at all either just dense fog.

The storm has not hit as yet, so it would be unlikely to be affecting anything.

That is what I was thinking from reading the articles.

Must be entirely unrelated then, its very unusual though, given that there are no weather problems etc.

Edit: Checked the weather and its to be heavy rain shortly. Might be a storm on the way I think?

(Sigh) Better get my "End is nigh" sign back in the closet

My pets are very clingy and quiet today - not their usual. Also the crows and ravens have returned full force, making lots of noise and flying in eratic circles. I think the animals must be feeling the flare coming in.

I suspect we are going to be ok in regards to this flare. If any damage is done it may actually be a good thing as it could spur governments to be more prepared for the upcoming solar max

Funny you say that. I was thinking just the opposite. Was 63 here in NE Ohio yesterday and the birds were everywhere and making all kinds of noise. Even warmer today and not a bird to be seen or heard anywhere. I found it to be a bit odd.

this page offers some nice forecasting tools that may be of some help to you. it is centered on alaska but does offer tools for a wider range of viewers. check it out:

Geophysical Institute

Found on the site you listed gse.gi.alaska.edu... Is that right? Am I bugging out or is that the yin yang? It's marked solar wind.

Could just be me paranoid but the moon here looks VERY bright tonight
Would there be anyway to see if their is a connection?

Im from Perth Australia

I was looking at the moon out my window last night, and I was -struck- by how outrageously BRIGHT it was. It hurt my eyes

I was just reading up on this on BBC News, and, typically, just like when there is a meteor shower, it's clouded over here in the far north west England. As it's 19:30 its dark out, but no sky

www.bbc.co.uk...

EDIT: Just looked out the window and it's now raining, clouds stretching from here to as far into Scotland as I can see
boooooooooo!
