Drug Traffickers Submarine seized

Colombian soldiers have for the first time seized a fully submersible drug-smuggling submarine capable of reaching the coast of Mexico, authorities announced Monday 14 feb 2011

A narcotics trafficking submarine has been discovered by authorities in Colombia. It's believed the vessel is able to travel from Colombia to the coasts of Mexico.

The submarine was found in a river in the state of Cauca, about 400 kilometres southwest of the capital Bogota. Authorities found weapons nearby, but said no one was arrested and no drugs were found when they made the discovery.

It looks like it only goes a deep as the conning tower shown sticking up over the raised portion there on deck.
I dont think it is a true submarine really. but s and f for the news anyways....what will they not do to move thier product?

No drugs huh? Wow gotta love the "war on Drugs". People can't even park their submarines in river channels anymore. WTF? Its amazin' the lengths that these people go to to get drugs into a country. You would figure that the 'refs' would start letting the teams 'play ball' after so long.

I came back from Panama (which neighbors Columbia) in October and this isn't new News....it's been know for quite sometime that in Latin America the big bankers from Columbia have submarines for drug running...Locals in Bocas Del Toro told me they see them while fishing

no one was arrested and no drugs were found when they made the discovery.

Why are they claiming it's used to smuggle drugs when none were found?

LOL! it looks like a "klunker" to me but I bet there will be drug dealers on the look out for used submarines!
