hello all, i know there is instructional info, and i have read plenty of threads trying to gain insight on how to acquire writer status. i have emailed worldwatcher, with no reply. i understand the basic 'rules' to gaining writer status, but i am just trying to get some advice from those who have writer status, as to what particular paths they took that lead them to it... or at least how to gain 'permission' to write in the collaborative writing forum...

i have been published on 3 occasions, and i currently have a short story that is under review by the office of the dean of students at vanderbilt university, although it has nothing at all to do with medicine...

any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have absolutely no idea how I got 'writer' status. It just happened one day several years ago.

I'm going to moving your thread to a staff forum.
All the staff will see your question so you should get an answer

Answer: Participate in a writing contest, simple as that.

How do I know? Look at my title, I am a writer.

It is under Members Short Stories. You still have time to participate in the writing contest, so long as you submit a thread on What Really Amps You with [WRAP] in the title by February 28, 2011 you will become a writer.

I have changed my mind I will leave this thread here for other new members who might also be interested.

And a hat tip to Misoir for providing an excellent link

Hi schitzoandro...

There are only two regular ways to get writer status:

1) Enter into a Short Story Contest

2) Be invited by a group who are currently involved in a Collaborative Writing effort

Hope that helps.

Write status aint too hard to come by. I received my write status by joining the penelope and yydryll thread. Masqua I think started or was adminning it. It was a pretty fun thread. U can still join it, I see new posts to it every so often.

Just write on there if u can join the fun. Write an introduction, post a few times, then if u don't like it kill off you character in a battle or keep posting on the thread. I allow my character to pop in every so often, then send him off on a far away mission when I get bored so I can return again. Usually with war spoils for sale.

I'm a writer, too.

I'm a reporter in my day job, but I write romance novels and night.
I've published twenty-five books with various publishers such as AOL TimeWarner/HarperCollins/Harlequin, etc. It'd be fun to hook up with other writers around here.
