Why on Earth is this necessary? It's not gonna be anywhere near as good as John Carpenter's version. You can just see all the ridiculous, unnecessary special effects already.

Peace

Though sharing the same title as it's predecessor, this is actually a prequel to Carpenter's version of "The Thing". It will (supposedly) try to keep with Carpenter's vision.

Why are you posting this list? Especially when there are many other threads on the same subject.

Well that's not too bad I guess......a prequel may be pretty good, but the way movies are made today, I'm still expecting a special effects nightmare. No solid story, just F/X.

Peace

You missed out the Abrams/Spielberg movie "Super 8" and also the Oren Peli movie "Area 51" from that list

I'm agreeing with ya here. I rather they leave The Thing alone. I really enjoyed the gross out factor that having the animatronic morphing produced. I think the "slick style of the fx" that we have now a days is going to take a way from all that good gory stuff.

Add to the list 'Monsters' (2011) which is out now.

Transformers 3 is technically Alien... June 2011.

Battleship - yes, based on the board game but with aliens vs. humans is out in 2012. Stars Liam Neeson.

The Darkest Hour looks good.

Paul was great... very funny.

I think we are being desensitized, I just went and saw Thor last night, and in the previews there was 2 alien themed movies. I don't think we are to far from official gov disclosure.

I can't remember the movie name where they all get sucked up from aliens. Supposedly. Anyone know? It's the new movie that's out.

Never mind. It's the Darkest Hour.

It's not out yet.

So buying that movie.
