Will the republican party run Sarah Palin to keep Ron Paul out?

Will the republican party shoot themselves in the foot by running sarah palin just so people will become so sick of her they'll vote for Obama a second term? Thereby eliminating any chance Ron Paul or another libertarian from coming into power? I think it's not a far stretch.

I can see that happening. Ron Paul is the only real opponent TPTB here in the American political arena, have. He is such a hero to me and I would love to see him hold the office of the POTUS.

I don't think the republicans are that stupid. Everyone knows Palin can't win.

According to many republicans the fact that you said such a thing means that you are 'afraid' of her and hence belittle her obvious appeal to the masses and intellectual rigor, this makes said Republicans even more determined to back her up. It is a joke that she even has as much airtime as she does, never mind millions of supporters....but sadly it is a reality and i wouldn't be surprised if this happens.

If the Republican party wishes for to lose for certain, then I cannot see a BETTER way to do so than having Sarah Palin run. As an "in-the-middle-political-party" type of guy, I would CERTAINLY go FULL Republican if Ron Paul was running.

Ron Paul is one of the few politicians with an actual brain to do things right. A politician that has the will and passion to turn this great nation around.

Sarah Palin would be an embarrassment to the Republican party and complete fail in my opinion.

Indeed. I am a right of center fiscally, but a little on the left socially. I think people know she isn't electable. TPTB on the republican side won't dare to promote her as a viable candidate.

And for some reason, the left has a fascination with her keeping her in the news regularly, when, by all rights she should be forgotten by now. IMO, she is as dumb as a bag of hammers, and doesn't stand a chance of a GOP nomination.

The Rino Establishment of the Republican Party does not want Palin or Paul in the party. That goes for the Tea Party, too. They want Romney who recently announced the US should be more like Europe (socialist). He's basing his campaign on socialist lite which is what the Republican Party leadership wants. They are not going to get it, I hope.

that's exactly why they would run her knowing there will be opposition to her and that will then be funneled towards Obama. At least that's what I'd do if I was the evil grandmaster of the republican party.

Wrong, I'm not afraid of anyone, let alone Sarah Palin, that makes me laugh. In fact I hope they do try that because Ron Paul will destroy her and will have a shot at destroying Obama as well.

I agree with you however Romney wasn't even the number one pick in 2008, somehow old man McCain got it which is a bit of a surprise to me. I could see people blindly following Romney because he smells like a neocon but if he gets elected his ride with crash just like Obummer.

Look, if Republican or conservative voters choose to vote for Palin in their majorities, the Republican party will go for her. If these voters choose to go for Ron Paul in their majorities, Ron Paul will be nominated and likewise. I do not think it is a matter of whether the republica party will "decide" to run for Palin, it is up tot he voters, just as with the Democratic party. I do believe that some people will make the excuse that the political party decides but that is not the case.

Paulers have to stop blaming government and political parties for their short falls, it is up to Ron or Rand Paul to run a campaign that will convince enough voters because to be frank, while Ron Paul is popular here, his position has not convinced enough people out there. This is something people do not care to admit on here.

I think if they do you will see a good showing of a third party. I have had it with both parties. I am sick of voting for "The lesser of two evils" all these years. If ever there was a time to get rid of the entrenched dog and pony show it is NOW.

I just wish someone would give me someone to vote FOR!
