All news stations do it.

I worked at the bbc, and those people had the same intellect as a cardboard box, and people respect there news, lol.

You all have to accept that all news stations and papers make stuff up. Is there really enough news for 24/7 coverage, lol.

Now, if only we could get similar admissions from former employees at CNN and MSNB. They're likely just as guilty as Faux news, in terms of being propaganda agencies. If that happened, perhaps more people would wake up to the false paradigm we're being force fed.

I do not have a "confession" but I do have this:

(the takeover of the media)
U.S. Congressional Record February 9, 1917: J.P. Morgan interests bought 25 of America's leading newspapers, and inserted their own editors, in order to control the media. www.mindfully.org...

JP Morgan: Our next big media player? (April 13, 2010) JP Morgan controls 54 U.S. daily newspapers, and owns 31 television stations. www.newsandtech.com...

Media Conglomerates, Mergers, Concentration of Ownership: www.globalissues.org...

Who controls the media www.nowfoundation.org...

Interlocking Directorates
Media corporations share members of the board of directors with a variety of other large corporations, including banks, investment companies, oil companies, health care and pharmaceutical companies and technology companies. This list shows board interlocks for the following major media interests:

Feel sorry for the kid on your video, but he should have known better to submit himself to O'Reilly. Bill is a douche, and half the time doesn't know what he's talking about. So using the O'Reilly show as your argument is kinda lame, considering everyone knows Ol' Bill is a loony to begin with~

I say that we should listen to all former employees much like we should listen to former scientologists, former hackers, former criminals and former republicans.

Can we include former progressives, former democrats and former members of PETA?

I have some distrust of just about any group with an agenda.
And, as far as political parties: they seem to be different sides of the same coin anymore.

My father-in-law owned a newspaper and he could not even get the story correct about his OWN son winning the Science fair despite the fact the kid was sitting at his elbow!

Pappy's Comment on the news was "you can believe the sports scores but I would not believe anything else"

It wouldnt matter if an Archangel sent by God descended on a beam of light and announced in a booming voice heard round the world that FOX news is a propaganda machine. People, the vast majority of all people, believe what they want to believe after a certain age. You program them with beliefs when they are young, and then you really dont have to worry about it. They will seek out information that reinforces the beliefs they already have, rather than information that may contradict it.

And when they DO come into contact with information that threatens their belief system, all sorts of things happen depending on their level of attachment to that belief system. But generally speaking, it is ignored, or even aggressively rejected.

This isn't really all that revealing. Journalists seemed to have gone extinct some time ago. It's a shame that I have to go to Al Jazeera news to get the real deal on Egypt, for example. If I go to MSNBC, FOX, CNN, etc . . . all I'm ever treated to is opinionated fluff interrupted every three minutes by mind numbing commercials.

Although I understand your skepticism, but if you think these accusations are baseless then you are part of the problem that is destroying America.

With your logic, accusations, which mind you don't always have evidence to support the allegations, would suggest a persons word as truth and law? Which would suggest people much like yourself, with your mindset are the problem and need to be eradicated.

I think there is enough news for 24/7 coverage, IF they were trying to do more than amuse us. There is enough corruption, backroom dealing, bribery, etc. in our politicians alone to keep the media occupied for at least 8 hours, and then they could go on and pick on other countries too.

We are rarely shown what goes on in other countries. Put some of that on there.

The media is a dog and pony show. Its there to pretend to be free so that we are amused, and dont realize we should be seeking out information on our own. It provides the illusion of information so that we dont ask questions. If something important was going on, it would be on the news, right?

Nothing is more effective at keeping you a slave than the illusion of freedom.

And that the point, your agreeing or the lack thereof is of opinions. Not facts. Point is, on topic mind you, is that an anonymous person making claims doesnt suggest truth. So am I to assume you believe everything you hear, or read? If so, that would suggest your mind numbing position.

Wow this is a first. I already knew that Glenn Beck said stuff about Canada's health care which was made up. He said that Canada "uses a lottery system for it's healthcare" and "Obama hates white people"
Fox News created the company "Making up stuff" and Glenn Beck is their CEO.

I have already stated this in other threads, but the fact is, most of what plays on the "news" channels is not actually news.

The majority of airtime is taken up by OP ED programming, where fact checking is not required, nor are the credentials of invited guests for that matter.

People like Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Rachel Maddow etc... are actors, payed to give opinion... nothing more, nothing less. The weight we give each one of these people's opinion is up to us.

The most persistent oxymoron is: "Journalistic Ethics". Most news, regardless of the source, is a mixture of truth, half-truth, opinion, and outright lies. Take what you hear on CNN, MSNBC, and other "left" leaning groups, then take what you hear on Fox News and other "right" leaning groups, and somewhere in the middle you will find the truth.

People, People, It's 'Media Matters'!!! That's the mouth piece of George Soros. It's not biased or anything!! Couldn't possibly be someone who was paid by Media matters to work for Fox and then bail with a phony story that fits a Soros agenda or anything, could it??? Naw, that would never happen!
