BTW, thank you very much for sharing this. I gave you a S+F for this one. I had no idea that someone with malicious intent got so close to messing up one of our cities.

I think it's likely that US government is keeping this quiet so they can track down the sender. If they released this info to the public right away, it could have triggered the sending party to go into hiding.

S&F , you do deserve more, now for the scary part, now we all know for every one drug shipment found there are at least 5 that make it through, so if they did find one ,whether it be of any kind of mass effect deceive, bio, nuke or chem is mute, that means at least 5 or more made it through. now that is a thought, it is not? like they would tell us that would also explain the Xray trucks, TSA DHS and FEMA going through the paces.

Yep it looks like he wanted to elaborate...perhaps they found test items that were sent tthrough the pipeline.
It sure seems as if he had much more to tell, but had second thoughts after blurting out the first part.
This all sucks because they can say they did anything they want to say they did...we coldnt tell one way or the other.

That thought is scary, because if the terrorists sneak enough of these dirty bombs past these port security posts, they could, over several years build up quite a large supply for a coordinated multi-city attack. Jericho style.

Having a a public relations person there controlling what the officer is saying is just like a scene out of North Korea where an "official" follows you around everywhere to make sure you don't take pictures of something you're not supposed to. And obviously just like in North Korea you never know what is really going on anymore.

I guess the best way for a government to keep their minions working productively and blissfully is to not let them know what is really going on. Wait... I meant to say; I guess the government has decided that the best way to protect the people is to keep them completely uninformed.

San diego's a trip.. huh.. remember a few months back, when they found the largest stash of bombs and chemical weapons ever in the history of the US up in escondido... the guy was a Serbian immigrant.. robbing all those banks... look it up folk i kid you not... they surrounded the house with steel walls and burnt it to the ground.. but never heard a word about it on the msm, only local stations... like this story, lots of stuff is hush hush in this city though..

Nah, if the government wanted something done they'd do it without a problem BUT this could be an ominous warning from TPTB preparing us for the big day something happens. Has anyone else noticed the increase in nuclear weapons references in modern media these days? I think it's all part of their plan; they're slowly getting us ready so that when it happens we're all gonna look back and see all the signs we missed and we're gonna have a whole new playbook let alone set of rules.

That's very true, it does remind me of North Korea. You can tell the guy wants to tell all, but he doesn't want to lose his job, so he has to really contemplate it.

I believe it got some coverage on CNN however no video or actual lengthly piece. Come to think of it, I think it was nothing more than a sentence on the ticker. It's a shame how the media pays more attention to some Jersey Whores than the very real national security threats we all face.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and call BS on the theory they found a dirty bomb (not a nuke) or a nuclear weapon on US soil. Why?

Because they'd be waving it in your face, screaming from the roof tops, see the "turrurists gotz da bombz"

The war on terror and the police state erected in it's image, have been a hard problem for TPTB because they can't sell it anymore, which is why anytime some half baked patsy gets conned into trying to set off a fake bomb by the FBI, it's all over the news reminding you to be afraid and give up liberty for security.

A dirty bomb or nuclear weapon is the holy grail, mana from heaven, these people NEED to convince the sheeple to give it all up. They would NOT let this slip by without taking advantage of it.

Hell, there are still people convinced to this day they found WMDs in Iraq.

While I am not flat out asserting that this is the case, I would like people to keep their minds open to the possibility that this officer, among many, could have been told that they found such a weapon, or that a weapon was found and they were told it was a 'dirty bomb'.

Our entrapment specialists at the FBI are NOTORIOUS for being hand in hand with such cases... and it would not surprise me to learn that the police are kept in the 'quasi' dark just to keep them properly motivated.

Most weapons experts I speak to seem convinced that the so-called "dirty-bomb" is a rather wasteful and ineffective way to accomplish a terror objective. It would be easier. more devastating and destructive, and far less hazardous to use the same resources to create a different kind of detonation entirely.

The "dirty-bomb" stories are meant to convince us that 'any' terrorist might be able to deploy one..... which is more than highly doubtful, unless of course, you have 'help.'

What I see in this is a literal "making of the news". The right response to the right questions, and some good video editing to capture those oh so perfect moments, and Voila! You've got a great fear mongering, psyops piece for the nightly news. And it becomes even more effective when you don't let the cop finish qualifying his answer. In a good TV series it's called a cliffhanger. Works every time.

I'll tell you what it tells us mate, it tells us that the vast majority of us on ATS have been smack right on about how much, or how little we the public would be told in the event that something like this happens.

The reporter specifically asks 'Has a dirty bomb been found'?

The port guy says 'No, not at this location'

'But you have found one' says the reporter

'YES' says the port guy.

NO ambiguity.

But of course, DHS has gone into damage limitation mode and denied it.

As an aside...notice the nuke detectors that the freight lorries have to pass through, before they are allowed out of port?

Am i the only one to think they are going to be useless if the actual port is a target?

IOW, if the port is the target, as the port guy says he thinks it would certainly be a target...why would the bad guys wait till they get to the detector before detonation?

I mean, if i wanted to attack the port with a dirty, radiological bomb,,,i''d simply detonate inside the port rendering it and as much as several miles around it, useless and unusable for a couple of hundred years!

What good is the scanner, after the device has entered the port?!!

Wouldn't it be a better option to have a facility offshore that has these scanners, then after passing through, the ships can dock?
