Military says Mubarak will meet protesters demands

CAIRO — Military and ruling party officials say President Hosni Mubarak will speak to the nation soon and meet the demands of protesters. Protesters are insisting he step down immediately.

Military officials say the armed forces' supreme council has been meeting all day long and will issue a communique shortly that they say will meet the protesters' demands.

There's still a lot of speculation on it, but looks like it's a go according to many US news sources. I suspect President Mubarek will hand the reigns over to Vice President Omar Sulieman.

Will this move appease the Egyptians is another question, since they protesters have said they won't stop until ALL demands are met which includes Mubarak leaving office.

Sources tell NBC News that Vice President Suleiman to take over as leader


CAIRO — Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak is to step down, two sources told NBC News on Thursday. Following an all-day meeting of the country's supreme military council, the army said all the protesters' demands would be met and a further statement was expected to be made later Thursday, clarifying the situation.
