Why is it so hard to get this 33degree??

I read, i think it was the Dick Tracy mod (sorry forgot your name), say that they put themselves out helping with teachings, helping out the older generation, charitable, hard working, kind, honest and generally of high moral fibre ....... i call these people friends and family..... i can honestly say that and i don't think i'm a minority.....

so with that said.... why is it so hard to get??

Its not hard at all honestly, Like I said before, with the right money and right connections anybody can be a 33rd.
I just a normal joe blow like most people.. I have a decent career, but i'd be damn if I spend a few thousand just for a title. I assume there may be some perks, but I think I'll just wait til i'm a millionaire and have money to blow

There is plenty of other ammunition in your posts on other threads. You have a right to your opinion, I'm not knocking it, it just doesn't serve as a very good Ambassador for Masonry. There are plenty of threads about racism and sexism in Masonry, and I don't think you would serve as a very good example debating in those threads. Nothing personal.

This thread is really about the information from your friend, so arguing about you is really moot. What we want to know is how credible the information from your friend is. Since we only have you to judge his credibility, then you are on the hot seat.

Good question. I guess it isn't "hard" to get, but it is fairly rare. First one has to be a Mason, and then choose to join the Scottish Rite, and then progress through all the levels to attain a 32nd Degree, and then serve a suitable time as a 32nd Degree, and then wait. You can't "apply" to become a 33rd degree, you have to be nominated by your peers and voted on. It is usually the most active and most visible members that are nominated, but if they have made any enemies in the fraternity, then they won't attain the degree. It is fairly difficult to go through an entire career in any field, be it family, work, or fraternity, without finding a few people that you don't get along with. When it comes time to be nominated for that honorary 33rd degree, sometimes those old skeletons come back to bite you, even if they were just normal disagreements.

The 33rd degree is kind of like a lifetime achievement award in Masonry. At least in my District. I here that some other districts are more forthcoming with it.

Exactly what I was thinking when I read the OP! Exactly. Upper echelon's of military combined with upper echelon's of Masonry, it could be an effective coup. Combine with the RestoreAmerica plan and the Tea Party, and I think you have the makings of a pretty connected and organized group.

What happens when someone desire, as a free man is considered by the system to be "inefficient' and "wasteful"??? You can bet your ass we will obey the numbers, obey the machine, and throw away our freedoms to yet another systematic machine that does nothing but destroy personal liberties over time.

Does it seem better than what we have now? Absolutely....and that is what worries me. People will be so willing and desperate for a change they will accept the "next best thing" without fully thinking it through...

I "try" to meditate everynight. I think it is very important depending on your spiritual path.

Please do , I brought this up to network dude and others , you guys have got connections all over America . If you did youd be doing the world a favour and you would no doubt get more people wanting to become masons .
