The story goes that the US Government was preparing for full disclosure of the existence of extraterrestrials including the release of Government film footage and pictures of flying saucers .

They planned to do this by sanctioning a film on the subject of UFO's and providing the filmmakers with hundreds of feet of classified film footage of dramatic UFO material .
Filmmakers Robert Emenegger and Allan Sandler were asked to join the project and shown the secret footage at the Pentagon .

The promised film was reportedly dramatic footage of an encounter between the occupants of a landed UFO and officials at Holloman Air Force Base. It impressed Emenegger who described what he saw in 1988, "What I saw and heard was enough to convince me that the phenomenon of UFOs is real – very real." Paul Shartle, who had controlled the film at Norton described what he saw on the film as, "I saw footage of three disc-shaped crafts. One of the craft landed and two of them went away... It appeared to be in trouble because it oscillated all the way down to the ground. However, it did land on three pods. A sliding door opened, a ramp was extended, and out came three aliens... They were human size. They had odd gray complexions and a pronounced nose. They worn tight-fitting jump suits, thin headdresses that appeared to be communications devices, and in their hands they held a translator, I was told. The Holloman base commander and other Air Force officers went out to meet them..."

NASA provided Emenegger’s research team with previously unreleased photographs of what appeared to be UFOs in space taken by Gemini astronauts.
After months of shooting, Emenegger’s documentary was complete but they still hadn't received the promised footage , at the 11th hour the USAF withdrew its permission for use of the material .

As the documentary neared completion, the two producers waited for the promised dramatic alien landing footage. Colonel Bill Coleman who had first made the offer to provide it in 1972, however, withdrew it. According to what Emenegger told researcher Tim Good, Coleman had declared, "The timing was politically inappropriate, due to the Watergate scandal."

The Emenegger/Sandler documentary, "UFOS, Past, Present, and Future" released by Sandler Films in 1974, was forced to use standard animation, background film taken at Holloman, and "elaborate drawing of the so-called aliens." At least that is what the producers thought when they first ran the film.

The film UFOs It Has Begun has a dramatization of a UFO landing at an American Airbase and is thought by many to be a telling of the Holloman UFO landing . from 2.20 on vid

I find it interesting that Holloman Air Force Base was the place that in1955 president Eisenhower had his alleged meeting with Extraterrestrials aboard their ship , was the material promised to Robert Emenegger film of this event or another landing and meeting .

Very, very interesting. If this is true, why doesn't the American government just release that old film? The time is right imo.
And don't you think the alien in the video looks a bit like an Egyptian god?

I could be wrong, but it’s likely that the Holloman footage is a good example of AFOSI becoming pro-active in the great game of screwing with UFO researchers. After decades of kinda passive monitoring and infiltration, they pitched in with this great lure and went fishing.
Greg Bishop did a great interview with Emenegger last year where he describes being used to capture footage of foreign powers under cover of documentary journalism. He fulfilled this role for some time before he was led on a wild goose chase with the promise of seeing this Holloman footage.

This is extracted from his Radio Misterioso blog…

Who could refuse? Soon, Emenegger was visiting the Pentagon, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and Holloman itself. He was given apparently free reign of the facilities and encouraged to ask anything he wanted. Even Major Donald Keyhoe, who failed to get the U.S. government to open up about the subject in the 1950s, called to say he was outraged that mere civilians were getting access to stories he was never allowed to hear. The film, which was entitled UFOs: Past, Present and Future, was going well.

The link has long gone, but you can still download the interview from this link here.

Of course, the footage never came his way and was probably an exercise in manipulation. Since then, Rick Doty offered to show it to LMH and others.

So are you saying you believe the Holloman landing footage was faked by the Air Force , and the backing of the Robert Emenegger's film was to be a Dis-info operation ?
I guess that would explain the odd Alien description , but it would be sad if that were the case
