Did anyone notice the pre-game message about the Declaration of Independence?

im pretty sure that they have read it before every Super Bowl since after 9/11, at least that is what the announcers said...i definitely remember seeing it before the Pats last big game appearance so i know it isnt new...the words should resound with any oppressed people, and hopefully they rang some bells around the country today, although probably not since they surrounded it with propaganda...

Since most Americans don't know squat as to what, is in that document. I think we almost have to assume they just wanted to go over that with us. So we might have some idea at least. To pursue happiness as a right given to them by their creator. Without making this a Christian nation, or a nation founded by Christians, or even a nation that might possibly believe in a creator.

The conceptualisation, writing it down and the fight for the US Declaration of Independence was a momentous and defining moment in the history of our enslaved human civilisation.

The declaration was not just for Americans, but for the free world and those that seek to be free.

Freedom does not come free, but comes at a price. One must be willing to lay down one's life for others, when all other peaceful means to achieve freedom is no longer possible or had been exhausted.

As the free world, piqued with interest over this worldwide received event, at a moment of current momentous human upheavals around the globe, they who tuned in, small or large groups, recieved that resounding call to declare for independence.

So let the fight begin, as beefy boys lay sieges upon their opponents without fear but only with focus and hearts on fire for victory, so too must those able bodied make their stand and pay the cost to be free......

The weird thing about it was Powell talking about King George. He was like "King George wanted rain down tyranny over the thirteen colonies and these men decided to step up and destroy the evil tyrant."

I'm like King George has been dead for hundreds of years. Do you really need to be that at angry at him today? It's not like he's effecting anyone in a negative way right now. Is anyone in America currently being oppressed by the long dead king George? Because I don't think anyone is.


You can't compare George to hitler , The Holocaust was less then a hundred years ago. King george the third died in 1820.
He died before The Civil war! Why are you still mad at him?

I dont think Egypt had anything to do with it. I think our last election cycle was the catalyst, and the commercial served as a reminder that We the People are responsible for our Government and its actions, and that we have been complacent to long and allowed our Government to do what it pleases. It came out loud and clear that the people are growing tired of being ignored, and that Government spending is out of control. That we are tired of the Constitution being ignored by our eleceted officals.

A subtle reminder that ultimately in the end, its the Peoples reponsibility to protect our Declaration and Natural Rights, and not the Governments.

Yeah, it was slightly awkward to my other friends who have their head in the sand to what is really happening in the world. Yes, the king is long dead. Yes, I wish we didn't have to fight for freedom, but on this dang planet sometimes you do. And, that doesn't really mean we have to pick up guns, unless necessary. We will use the voice of truth as our weapon.

Even if the old villains are dead and gone, it doesn't mean new ones can't arise. It's symbolism, and the film taken at face value, it is a wake up call. The document still applies today, like the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

Those documents are our protection. I didn't use to be much of a patriot not that long ago. But, somewhere in the Big Pharma, Monsanto type crap, and in all my attempts to spread the truth, I reclaimed my patriotism. I hated a lot of things that were going on in the country. But you know what? I'm patriotic to America as it should be, not necessarily as it is. I want that wonderful America promised to us in those documents. I would like to see every man, woman, and child in this country to live in that America promised in those documents. Freedom for everyone, bar those who are destructive to the good people of this nation. Jail has places for people like that, and even those guys can make amends and reclaim their freedom.

That's what I want to see, the restoration of America, not this crap where laws and bills are passed behind closed doors, where we don't get a chance to review them. The America where the government isn't growing out of control. The America where Monsanto isn't running over the population because they have a lot of money. Etc. etc.

Maybe it's not a perfect nation, but I'll take my Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and The Declaration of Independence, over Tyranny any day. Sure the documents are old, but the basic idea remains the same. A free country. Freedom is a good goal for anyone on this planet.

Well said... I enjoyed watching it too. I thought it was really touching. Made my eyes tear up a bit.

We certainly are in dire need of revolution in this country, but I would hope to remind my countrymen that our best armaments aren't our guns, They are our independence, our ingenuity, and our will. Creating a communitycentric sub-culture that effectively shuts out and shuns the federal government and "the market" (Wall Street and the corporations); trading and doing business only amoungst ourselves (which won't be totally possible at first, but will grow). If this can catch on, those malevolent entities will cease to control us and will become irrelevant. The only necessity for anything akin to violence would be protecting ourselves- and one another, from crime and defending our borders. In time, that sub-culture could become the predominant culture.
We do come from all walks of life and have, amoung us, the resources to accomplish this.

I believe Powell was just going over the history leading up to The Declaration of Independence...

Don't have time to read through the thread right now.. but if no one mentioned it yet, they've done this every year before the Super Bowl since 9/11.

I saw it, I thought it was very inspiring although they have done that before. I liked how they seemed to add emphasis on certain parts, Charles Woodson quoting a part about overthrowing the government with such power in his voice was highly inspiring to me as well as the others. From what I observed there was a lot of that overthrow/waking up type of symbolism throughout the Super Bowl. The kia commercial where the car ascends through space and time, the Google pad commercial where the guy is reading 1984, and the alien-esque halftime show where the singer makes an Obama quip. Weither it is on the idea of inciting rebellion to further a martial law initiative, or a call to arms for most americans who are struggling to survive I am not sure, but it made for a fascinating event none the less. Go Thomas Jefferson!

If you really listen to the whole thing, it wasn't about picking a fight with another Country, but, that Americans have a right to overthrow their OWN government if they feel it is getting too oppresive. That is one of the rights guaranteed by our Declaration of Independance.

That was the biggest slap in the face to us all. And most of you loved it.

70% of the people watching the CB, didnt even pay attention, too busy socializing. Most the SB parties I have been to, most people barely watch the game.

Those words have a different meaning to the elites ears. They laugh as you struggle, and they know that you will never, " dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another"

They give you the Super Bowl, beer, and tables covered in food. They know all you care about is sleeping, eating, #ing , and #ting. They have you in the best trap ever devised. Frankly it made me sad to read all the drivel in this thread.

i thought the same thing.You need to connect the dots here. right before the super bowl Egypt had a revolt it was televised and they got what they wanted. The government has been eroding away our rights one by one over time and just recently it was become more blatant then ever. I asked myself why would they do this? The answer i came up with frightened me. They want us to revolt and not just revolt but win. I know that sounds weird but hang with me on this. They want us to win so they can revise a new government one without the bill of rights and Constitution. The revolt will go peacefully and the president will step down all government will seem to be disbanneded. Then out of nowhere a country maybe china will start a war with us. A leader will seem to step out of nowhere he will talk with other countries and china will back off. He will be considered a hero The people will want him to be the first president. He and others that helped him will seem to write a new bill of rights and constitution. But to the people it will be told that he is reinstating the old bill of right and old constitution the people will cheer him on. What he really is doing is writing loop holes for the new government to totally bypass both.And all without a shot being fired. The American people will freely give up their rights in ignorance to this new government.Those that revolt will be put in the fema camps built 15 years before.

Your rationale would be correct if we are still living in the middle ages where most are uneducated.

Today, if they pull such a stunt as you envisioned, those that planned such attempts would be exiled forever, for we are a much more discerning generation, than the 911 generation had been whom had allowed the maligned use of the word 'Patriot' in the patriot act to exist. It was a NAZI dictatorship act that was eventually passed, but did not got far for far too many americans were willing to have their privacy eroded with a legal ruckas/ monetary compensation without a fight. with guns close by.

No. The sacred Declaration during the SP had been a slip up by our masters whom presume most are still sleeping and would not pay attention to it. It was allowed for show of commercialised patriotism by them, fully unaware many had already been awaken, as evident by this thread, following closely events happening around the world today, just as the creation of internet had been a bad slip up by our greedy masters for allowing it to happen. Their weakness lies in their greed, and is something that they cannot change overnight or even overtime.

Yes, you were not alone CT, that was so out of place. I'll give you my take. That piece was just one of a number of quaint dramatic vignettes linked to the SuperBowl in order to comfort the masses in my opinion. That is with what's going on in the middle-east and on the home front right now. After that little act I'm stocking up on Vaseline folks. Here comes the $9 a gallon gas and the reinstating of the healthcare fiasco. You don't believe the stock indexes and unemployment figures, do you?

Obama being interviewed by O'Really was another of these skits. The Bushes seated next to John Madden was another. Even the close up of A-Rod and Cameron Diaz had a purpose beyond the pale. That was a bit of "Here, hate on these two while we feed you more images of NWO creeps being made to look nearly human. Consider too that the SuperBowl is the most watched media event. "Hey grandma, what a big audience you have! All the better for mass brainwashing my dear." And you thought they were selling you cars and nachos? Well not the folks on ATS, you guys are a hard sell. And that's a good thing.

WTF does the "Declaration of Independence" have to do with pro-football milking the nation for another billion? A blatant monopoly is supposed to make me feel all goey and patriotic? As soon as that "Declaration" crap started alarm bells went off with the group of friends I was watching the game with. I'm certain it did with most of the people here.
