if am right or wrong about my beliefs, that does not give me the right to be cowardly in my dealings with people. with me being a coward, my arrogance, self opinion, lack of respect, selfishness, anger, self-pitty, and it's all about me. so i need to grow up, and to humble myself, dont you think so. i am 50 years of age, and i still act childish. so if am going to change my cowardly ways, i have to set out a good moral foundation, respect, good manners, helpful, honest, and not just think of myself. so what ever you think of me or yourselves, the truth is the morals we need to make life happily together, we dont use. so if i dont make the changes in my life to do what is right, well am a coward. what are you?

Why are you a coward? What makes you believe this?
Have no not stood up for yourself and been walked over?

Have you run away from problems?

I don't get it.

You are right about morals though, people need values and morals and need a platform from which to start.
Honesty, decency, trust, compassion, Honour.... many other traits and characteristics.

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, if you realise these things, then you know you can change... you have identified some issues and admitted some things, that's most of the work right there.

You asked "why do i call myself a coward" your post is full of references to emotions that at some stage we all have had, and yet does not actually state why you feel this way.

why i feel this way. when i look around and see what is going on in the world i feel great sorrow, fear, hopelessness, and then anger. i get angry at everyone for not seeing the errors of there ways. but its myself i should be angry with, but am a coward, and i find it easy're to put down everyone else. what i see the human family doing to one an other, i think we are all cowardly. stay safe.

Dear Gary

From the description of your feelings i assume you are not a coward, but just a human.Aknowledge this feelings you just take the first step of becoming a better person. The age that you are mentioning it's not important, unless you follow society's stereotypes.
I feel that way some times and that makes me want to improve myself.
Also imagine that there are people out there ,that they think that they are perfect and they are those who actually make the biggest harm in the world.

I am 57 Earth years old, and I most certainly am not a coward, and do not see why you call yourself one? Self respect is paramount to being respected, you should know that at your age. I still act childish too, that is a man thing, it just means you are still in touch with your inner child. My wife, bless her heart, calls me her oldest child sometimes. And Morals are something we are supposed to learn as a child, how to act in public, how to respect others, and their space, how to get a job, talk to a woman, all these things are taught my our mentors and peers as a youngster. What happened to you? Did you just drop out of the sky? Here is just a little advice....stop caring about what others may think of you, or what you say. Say the hell with it and live your life.

50 its prob too late to change. Inwardly I am scared, shy, doubtfuly of myself, self consciece, and all around have an inferiorty complex. The world however sees an cocky/confident, smart, witty, young man who is hard working and can do anything.

That is why I got promoted to management in about a year and the guy that has worked at my company for 27 years didn't. He hates me but it isn't my fault. He tries to act like I do now cause I put in my notice. New job more money better benifits, but it just seems forced. Everyone remembers him the way he used to be. He retires in 2 years anyway.

Who you are is controlled by your actions, and how you really feel about yourself. If you see yourself as a coward, then you will become one. Others will sense it on you, and treat you accordingly. If you see yourself as a normal failuable human who makes mistakes, but tries to do better each time. Then you are on the road to a better u. PS Generally real cowards, don't talk about being cowards. They are the ones who act like they deserve the Medal of Honor everytime they do anything. In a pinch they are the last person you want help from.
