I'm fairly sure that you did not. You may have believed you did, and it's fairly plausible that you mistakenly identified some other mundane creature like a bird or a bat or something. But we have really good (ie, evidence based) reasons to believe that Pterosaurs have been extinct for at least 65 million years, and absolutely no evidence (beyond subjective witness testimonies, which may or may not be true) to suggest otherwise.

I lived in Southern Michigan for a few years and always were amazed at the size of the whooping Cranes that we saw, they look like they are from another age, they fly slow, are very large. My brother hit one with a car one time because they take off so slow, I really felt bad because it didn't die right away and it had such large wings it moved like a prehistoric animal, they are protected as there aren't many around:

I've never heard of them that far east, but I've heard of more western native tribes who believe the creature still lives. They call it the thunder bird and it rides in on storm fronts.
