BEIJING—The maker of China's new stealth fighter jet has teamed up with a tiny, unprofitable California company to try to launch bids for U.S. defense contracts, possibly including one to supply Chinese helicopters to replace the aging Marine One fleet used by the president, according to people involved in the partnership.

A bunch of my buddies went down in AH-64 Apaches, et al. due to improperly made Chinese parts.

Any nation that uses foreign military equipment or parts deserves the beating that is coming to it.

ANYTHING ARMY SHOULD SAY: MADE IN USA

anything US Military should read Made in USA.

Just imagine going to war and can't get parts
or replacements for your planes, helicopters
and tanks cause the enemy is the one who
built the dang things.

Its unlikely to succeed. The same company teamed up the Ukrainians to enter an Antonov in the KC-135 tanker competition. It was excluded on a technicality.

Its a statement of intent for the future more than anything else.

why the fear mongering. do you really think china is a threat to american security. dont buy into that rubbish. this is just america looking for new enemies.
china already has a strangle hold over american military, they have the market on rare earth metals. you cant make the likes of laser or gps without them and so what...
you really so paranoid that the chinese peope what to leave the home and come all the way over and invade america. comon those peep could have done hundreds of years ago if they wanted to. the chinese have been around a long time, they are contained. dont judge another book by your own cover...

I think its just more ways that china can get information on what the us miliary is doing...
They could guage the state of US technology by the contracts being tendered.
The Chinese, by the way, stole the entire schematics to the electronics package aboard the presidential hellicopter marine one.

Ain't to many people in the world making tires now. If DOD needs tires...they gotta go with Chinese.

Much of DOD is made in China. More than you imagine. I wouldn't be surprised if parts of the F-22 weren't made in China. The Chinese wouldn't know what the parts they were making went to.
