If you could brand anyone's forehead, what group deserves the stigma?

Yesterday I watched Inglorius Basterds, where Nazis are branded on the forehead, so that they can never remove their "evil" stigma.
That raises many questions about war criminals, from Zionist extremists to Muslim terrorists.
I wonder how many mass rapists and war criminals are walking about in South Africa (or other countries) every day?
Should one brand wife-beaters and gay-bashers, and people who rape lesbian women in an attempt to make them straight (corrective rape)?
Can such branding become a mark of pride for hate groups - indeed would it stigmatize the people who carve the mark as similarly evil?
Should one mark every Communist for the excesses of Stalin, Pol Pot and North Korea?
How many Nazis lived in even the US, and would a mark have been impossible to remove?
Maybe only the leaders should be branded, because all their minions are only following orders?
How would one brand George W. Bush?
All angles welcome.

Noooo!
Being paranoid isn't a crime, surely?
Besides, unless you have a real pancake face that's a bit long.
Well, would look great at any Black Sabbath/Ozzy concert!

Interesting point.
I'd beware of branding a whole army.
Not all those people did terrible things, and soldiers do have diminished responsibility in that they follow orders.

I also watched again: Born on the Forth of July.
Some of those veterans were "branded", in the sense of being disabled by the war.
At least that movie implied that the branding had different meanings for pro-war/anti-war groups.
For the one group they were signs of failure, for the other they were signs of being useful idiots.
I'd say conscription itself mediates blame either way.

In SA too, there was conscription for white males during apartheid.
The alternative was six years imprisonment.
Besides, communism in Africa was pretty grim, and despite some very stigmatized criminals, I think most of those soldiers fought for what they believed was a good cause.

how about everyones forehead with their IQ?

wouldn't that make it easier to ID who had a grasp of a thorough thought process.. and then we could determine who would be smart enough make rational decisions without being duped.

Stigma also changes over time.
Under Reaganism the film stigma moved increasingly from suffering veterans to incompetent politicians who "wouldn't let them win".
In SA many didn't talk about the SADF after 1994.
However, now that the communist/socialist liberation movements are starting to show their true horrors, incompetence and ideology, many former soldiers are once again proud to have fought against them.

Good idea.
I fear that might go pear-shaped in many ways however, it would be very politically incorrect.
The liberal "scientists" might say that IQ is influenced by nurture and the environment, and some people and groups never had a real chance to develop theirs. Hence it is unfair discrimination.
Others might claim that "emotional intelligence" is bigger than IQ.
I think people with high IQs will be bullied.
And what if they suddenly get a brain injury or dementia?

In that case I would deliberately mess up my IQ test in order to achieve a low mark. Then I could stand there dribbling, while the scientists talk of top secret plans, believing all the while that I am a simpleton unable to decipher their schemes.

Then WAPOW! Head but with my mighty low number and their evil plan is foiled, and the Earth is safe...

For now.

Perhaps it would be good, if chosen by some people.
Circumcision was once a mark of faith (allegedly even in Egypt, before it became Hebrew law).
I suppose those men must have have been nude occasionally for anyone to notice, or perhaps they didn't wear underpants and flashed occasionally?
I mean, in the NT (Acts) how did the disciples know that Cornelius wasn't circumcised, and considered even eating with his family as unclean?
And then I read that naked Greek wrestling became the fashion, and Jewish men actually tried to grow their foreskins back (currently in vogue with male gender activists).

Nowadays we even wear clothes when baptized, and many people hide tattoos and piercings under their clothes.

So the forehead is the best place to make a statement.

Perhaps a fish for Christians (one way of never denying Christ before men, and better than a car sticker) or 666 for devil worshipers, and so forth.
I've even considered getting "HIV" on my own forehead.
