The US military paid $285 billion over three years to hundreds of military contractors that defrauded the Pentagon over the same stretch of time, a US senator charged Wednesday.
The sad truth is that virtually all of the major defense contractors in this country for years have been engaged in systemic fraudulent behavior, while receiving hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer money," he charged.
The Pentagon also spent $683 million over the same period on 30 contractors convicted of c
The US has endorsed $150 million in supplemental aid to Jordan, increasing the total foreign assistance to the Kingdom during 2010 to $1.3 billion
With the supplemental assistance, total US aid to Jordan for 2010 stands at $810 million
Washington’s sudden aural ability to “hear the people/share their pain” has to be put in the context of American governments having created this regime and assiduously backing it with over $45 billion in military support. The US government, past and present, has willingly colluded with Murbarak’s police state in murder, terror and immiseration of the Egyptian people.
Don’t expect the shadow-war money spigot to close. The U.S. gives Yemen between $200 and $300 million annually in (mostly) military aid, supplying everything from attack helicopters to cargo planes to commando training. In a country with a 35 percent unemployment rate and a weak central government, that aid is happily diverted so Saleh can buy tribal chiefs’ loyalties.

But I must protest at your assertion that Foriegn Aid must end. Its not the fact that aid exists , and is sent that is the problem. It is the end result of that aid, and the fact that there is military aid of any sort, paid to anyone.
The aid that is needed in these nation is the aid which teaches children who otherwise would remain uneducated, which leads to being easily lead, and easily radicalised.

Speaking in terms of ideal situations, a socialism should not have a central control , nor should its functions be carried out by persons who have power external to thier role. Ideally a socialism should be utterly transparant and disperse benificial assets evenly , and according to need. The problem comes when individuals are allowed to grab a hold of the assets before they come to be used, skimming off the top and leaving people the asset was intended for, high and dry .

Socialsim is not a problem, greed and corruption eating away at such systems like a cancer through a liver, is the problem.

Socialism is power shared amongst all people, and the only reason you dont see it , is because no nation that has ever attempted socialism has kept true to its ideals. There has always been an overlord, a tyrant, a single seat of power. In a socialism every man woman and child would be the leader, and no one body would have control or power over another person or group.
