Senior reporter for Nile Tv Resigns

Live on AlJazeera now....she has chosen to resign and join the protesters in Tahir square.

Shes reporting that she has recieved death threats for trying to report from the square.

She states that state tv is not covering the protests and are making out that its not really happening.

Shahira Amin, the deputy head of the Egyptian state channel Nile TV is telling Al Jazeera that she has resigned because "she no longer wants to be part of the propaganda machine" - she says that before this week she has always been able to report the truth, and that she has not had to be a hypocrite, but this week she has been intimidated by state security services, who have threatened her with "disappearing off the face of the Earth" - "Many Egyptians are ignorant (of the events) but I think they are beginning to realise", she says; "I feel liberated".

If her reasons are true, and if what she says is true, then she is a good person who many should follow as an example. Most of us would have chose to stay with our "job" because of our families and bills to pay.

If I was Egyptian I would want to be there as well. I hope nothing happens to her for quitting.

I applaud this reporter for her actions.

Just think what would happen if ALL reporters
quit their networks and took their phone
cameras into the streets and reported
the truth and posted the videos on youtube.

They wouldn't get paid for it, but they would have
the satisfaction of telling the truth.

There comes a time when you have to make
a choice to ween yourself off the NWO teet
