Boy rushes past tight security to meet pope

The boy somehow sneaked past tight security at the Vatican and ran up as Brazilian pilgrims were being introduced to the pope. The unusual interruption was permitted by Vatican guards after a discreet nod from the pope's secretary.

Video from CBSnews.com:

The little boy ran past security, knelt in front of the Pope and received a blessing. After the event, the crowd erupted in applause.

I saw it on the news and I found it odd and quite sweet, to be honest. Still, one can only wonder how tight the Pope's security is if a small boy can just run to him like that.

I feel bad for thinking this, but.. for all we knew at the time, this little boy could have been one. There are a lot of sick people out there using children to do horrible things. I'm just glad this little boy just wanted a blessing and no one got hurt.
