Part I - The world is a beautiful place

"Suddenly, from behind the rim of the moon, in long, slow-motion moments of immense majesty, there emerges a sparkling blue and white jewel, a light, delicate sky-blue sphere laced with slowly swirling veils of white, rising gradually like a small pearl in a thick sea of black mystery. It takes more than a moment to fully realize this is Earth . . . home."

Astronaut Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14

Part II - What we think is important

Part III - The problem

Part IV - The Reality

Part V - The Outcome

Part VI - Where we are headed

WTF IS WRONG WITH US??????

Part VII - And He Rested

This was an insight to what I think about our world at it's current state. If we do not learn to have some compassion and tolerance for our fellow brothers and sisters, there will be nothing left.

Please..........

When your right, your right. Maybe someday the eyes of man will open up and take a good look at how precious the earth and its inhabitants are and then decide it is time to appreciate it all.

Ever since the riots started
I have been using this video to calm
and relax my friends and family, and it's worked.

An alcholoic friend responded on Facebook with "Beautiful."

My baby sister sent a message from Paris say "this made my morning."

I brought some governement housing rappers into my house, gave em each a coke
and showed them this video. They shrugged it off, but one came back
two days later and wanted to talke about a video he wanted to make.

Angels on the sideline,
Puzzled and amused.
Why did Father give these humans free will?
Now they're all confused.

Don't these talking monkeys know that
Eden has enough to go around?
Plenty in this holy garden, silly old monkeys,
Where there's one you're bound to divide it

Right in two

Angels on the sideline,
Baffled and confused.
Father blessed them all with reason.
And this is what they choose.
(and this is what they choose)

Monkey, killing monkey, killing monkey
Over pieces of the ground.
Silly monkeys give them thumbs,
They forge a blade,
And when there's one they're bound to divide it,

Right in two.
Right in two.

Monkey, killing monkey, killing monkey
Over pieces of the ground.
Silly monkeys give them thumbs,
They make a club
And beat their brother... down.
How they survived so misguided is a mystery.
Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability
to lift an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here

Gotta divide it all right in two

They fight, till they die
Over earth, over sky
They fight, over life,
Over brawn, over air and light,
Over love, over sun. Over blood
They fight, or they die, all for what? For our rising!

Angels on the sideline again
Been too long with patience and reason
Angels on the sideline again
Wondering when this tug of war will end

Gotta divide it all right in two
Right in two

Right in two...

Lovely thread. I am a Carl Sagan fan as well.

The problem if History is any indicator, we are unable to learn to have compassion and tolerance.

I think many would like to, I think we try.

There are always those who want what they want, or believe what they believe and they are unwilling or unable to even entertain any other ideas. They are willing to kill or die for ideas.

It has always amazed me that we create ideas, without us there aren't any. Why would any of them be worth the death of any of us. They are just ideas.

It isn't that simple, I know, there is stuff too. Your stuff is better, than my stuff, give me yours. I say, ok here, it is only stuff, but I am one little idiotic fool. An anomaly in the jungle of dog eat dog.

I will be interested to see what others say. S&F

Another great addition.

If this thread died right now it would be worth the effort!

Probably should have put a 56k warning for those who are still on dial-up
.

Anyway this is an interesting collection and still loving the idea of electrical currents going through a volcano.
Ever since learning about it yesterday I can't seem to get enough of it. Just need to find a wallpaper for it now

Sorry just fixed that. Thanks for the reply. Just search google images for "Volcanoe Lightning". That's what I did. I would say right click on one of those above, but they cropped out, too wide.

I've been trying to figure the lyrics out myself.
This always makes me nervous as I have missinterpreted lyrics before.

I'm pretty positive that the begining has the phrase "wana talk about it."
I've been hooked from that point on.

I miss Johnny. Again a great addition. Seems to definitely be a theme running. Glad we are all on the same frequency.

Wanted to add this one. Not even the dead are safe from the violence. Egyptian mummy damaged after looters hit the Cairo Museum.

Just watched the video again. Though a great song by the man in black, I think it does not have to go by any book.

Books are meant to be emphasized with new chapters and entire volumes.

Much like threads here on ATS. They never go away just recalled and added to.
