The Muslim brotherhood is now throwing Molotov cocktails at the protesters and the army just fired warning shots over their heads to get them to stop.

I see the Police wore their
civilian clothes to work today
and each brought along a bag
of rocks.

And knives, machetes, clubs, Molotov cocktails... and their badges for some strange reason. Over 1,500 injured and at least 3 dead.

The Army had stepped up their efforts to warn protesters and suggest that they leave, perhaps someone tipped them off about a police operation aimed at flushing them out forcefully. Clearly, the police/intelligence operation also involves increasing the presence of the pro-government stance in the international press.

I don't think that is correct, I've been looking at the live feeds all day in real time - and most Molotovs are being thrown by the pro-Mubarak thugs at the pro-democracy/anti-Mubarak protesters!

The pro-Mubarak thugs are now throwing Molotovs from at least 3 locations around Tahrir Square right now - some Molotovs are being thrown by the pro-Mubarak crowd at the anti-Mubarak protesters from the roof of two buildings and from the Kasr El Nile bridge road - one of the entrance roads to the Tahrir square.

Some other Molotovs are also being thrown by charging pro-Mubarak thugs at the newly built barricades at the square entrances, especially the one near the National Museum.

Peace!

Situation updates, as other threads regarding Egypt are more complex and debatable in nature

This should be kept as a thread for news updates, I have a couple of friends in Cairo who are posting occasional updates and I have a few screens dedicated to Reuters and Aljazeera.

10:22 am Reports from doctors on ground in Tahrir square say seven people were killed overnight, our correspondent says.

10:15 am Demonstrators in Tahrir Square in central Cairo are seen beating and scuffling with opposing protesters as clashes between pro- and anti-Mubarak crowds continue into their second day.

10:13 am Robert Fisk: Blood and fear in Cairo's streets as Mubarak's men crack down on protests www.independent.co.uk... l

10:11 am Sixty-two Egyptian human rights organisations warned against internal violence in Egypt due president Mubarak’s insistence to stay in office.

The organisations said in a statement that they suspected the seriousness of what was announced by Mubarak’s decisions because they coincided with the attack on demonstrators in Tahrir Square.

9: 44 am No negotiation will be held with any member of Mubarak’s regime unless Mubarak leaves, Egypt's Kifaya (Enough) opposition movement, told Al Jazeera.

Lyrics to Assassin :
War is overdue
The time has come for you
To shoot your leaders down
Join forces underground

Lose control
In increasing pace
Wantonly waste
Intention erased
Whatever they say
These people are torn
Wild and bereft
Assassin is born (yeah)

Appose and disagree
Destroy Demonocracy

Lose control
In increasing pace
Wantonly waste
Intention erased
Whatever they say
These people are torn
Wild and bereft
Assassin is born (yeah)
