The US will not fall, there are far too many of us. It is headed for some tough times ahead I agree.

What has happened is that over the last 100 years the socialist democratic party has been manipulating the American way of life, the socialist party clearly is a problem for America, but those that are citizens have the same rights as we do. We need to restore our American values and not sway away from our honor and integrity. This nation was founded on those principals to allow for freedom, what is happening even on this very thread is that the majority of people are falling prey to the socialist propaganda which has become a cancer around the entire world.

It saddens me that so many here are just anti-american, but it comes as no surprise.

Do something good and most people forget, make a mistake and people will remember forever.

So we have made some mistakes, but make no mistake. The founding fathers of this country were genius and have anticipated this day to come. The genius of the US constitution is at work for us every day.

This country was doing fine until capitalism took over and thought it would be better for companies to decide how this country should be run instead of the people.

We were colonised by the english... just as you were. Difference is we hold on to what we are and where we came from.... well some of us do. Also note that we did not eradicate the locals. Lucky for them.

Neither did we, they own all the casinos...

Capitalism is not the problem, the growing welfare state is. It is not a result of capitalism, it is the result of the welfare system running a muck and large government.

America was mostly founded by people with grit, a dream, determination and hard work. If most the people hit by Katrina has the same attributes then they would be back on their feet by now. This country wasn't made by people sitting around waiting on the government to take care of then....they did it themselves.

Most the people in La. would have been better of if they had planned better for such an event, had emergency supplies and made wiser choices. I personally wouldn't live beside an ocean that was 15' higher than the land and depend on a dirt wall to hold back the ocean.

New Orleans wasn't the only city hit by Katrina, why are they still struggling and can't seem to help themselves?

What a smug attitude you have.

As we speak aussies living in parts of queensland are being attacked by cyclone yasi. All these reidents live right on the beach. They probably won't have a home when the cyclone is finished, but because they are aussies they know that not just there gov't will help rebuild but fellow aussies will help too.

Luckily they don't live in new orleans where people like you and the gov't have just walked away saying "I'm proud to be an american"

your an a-hole.

A little research would have shown that in a lot of towns that were damaged by Hurricane Katrina, the towns people pulled together and got things down with little or no government help.

It's "you're an a-hole".
If you're going to try to insult someone, at least spell things correctly.

So I guess you must have been in New Orleans to have witnessed this all first hand, or did you rely on the media to form an opinion for you?

I guess you must have missed the tens of thousands of volunteers from across the country, my town included, who took time away from their lives and families to go to the damaged areas and offer medical assistance, the countless volunteers who risked their own lives to search through the muck and the water to help find survivors, also the tons upon tons of donated food that was shipped down from across the country, with medical supplies and clothing in tow.

And mentioning the millions of dollars in donations that poored in from Americans in all corners of the nation would only serve to add some truth to your hateful rhetoric of factual inconsistencies. It's easy to blindly shoot your mouth off with no substance or truth to back you up, and every one of your words smacks of hatred and bitterness toward the American people.

As far as I have seen from your posts you do nothing whatsoever but name call and verbally attack the members of this board with vulgarity and ignorance. May the ban hammer fall swiftly upon your head, troll.

Oh dear, anyone patriotic is so easy to control... After what America has been through in the last fifteen years or so you should be angrier than hell and hanging your politicians from the nearest lamp posts... Take 9/11 for instance! New Yorkers should have been searching for who was responsible and asking some retty impertinent questions yet your idiot of a president climbs atop of a heap of rubble and chants, USA USA, and within minutes he's joined by thousands! Good job he didn't chant, "Lets all stick our heads in the oven and kill ourselves", because America would now be a wasteland inhabited by a few thousand deaf people!

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

If this is your idea of America, I would invite you to do some better research about this nation. We are not a nation of party line towing automatons. We are a nation that has a diverse and complex political landscape. To suggest that America is something like a giant Jonestown is simply misleading and naive.

I'm in New York and Vegas at least twice a year and Americans are very nice hospitable people until someone starts chanting USA USA and then you all tend to become tribal and seemingly unable to help yourselves... You simply have to join in! Its almost like a football chant! There's this inane overwhelming desire to let everyone else in ear shot know how proud you are of your country which sometimes reaches such a crescendo that I've seen Americans scowling and violently punching the air in a vain attempt to rid themselves of this excitement that they whip themselves into...

You do know that other countries have tested nuclear weapons, right? France, Russia, China, etc?

And the Eastern European countries have a nice load of toxic waste sites that they have to clean up after the Russians left.

I am proud because I have the freedom to make my own choices, for better or worse.

I am proud because I have the freedom to practice ANY religion!

I am free because I have a right and the ability to become educated in any subject I choose.

I am free because I can become rich, or I can become poor.

I am free because I have found GOD, LOVE and FAMILY.

I am proud of my brothers and sisters who have also found freedom and success that our forefathers have sewn.

I am free because there is freedom of speech but that doesn't mean I have to take anything at face value.

I am free because I am not a victim or a pawn, I am free to choose.

I can be a carpenter, architect or an astronaut, thats up to me and my choices.

I am lucky to be born in a country which gave me every opportunity to succeed.

I am fortunate enough to have an education and see my friends die from old age.

I have succeeded in not letting other people bring me down, but I was fortunate to have been brought up out of darkness.

I am lucky that the cops arrested me for driving drunk, they probably saved my life.

I am fortunate that they didn't beat me to a pulp.

I am lucky for being a citizen, I am lucky that people 200 years ago understood my plight.

They did not make a new government overnight, they spent decades making things right.

They did not free the entire world but rather they freed me, so that I could tell you all.

Don't chose a new government in just one night.

lol, this was one of the most ridiculous posts in my entire year, thanks man

but who cares what others think, if u are happy, thats all that matters
