I tried to make it obvious to the reader that my freedom as an american was inherited and even though it was inherited I am proud, so whats the problem with that? I am damn proud, but I only wish that the rest of the world can see what America is and not what it is made out to be.

I think you misunderstood the intention and tone of my post. I was not lashing out at your op at all. If anything I was agreeing with and seeking to add my own feelings and thoughts to it.

Again. I am a natural born US citizen and I am proud, for that I make no apologies. I do not apologize for what you think the US has done to you or what the US has done to or for your country. I make no apologies. I was born naturally just as all of you and you have no right to hold that against me. I am a freedom loving individual who has experienced a free country only because I was born here and I am in touch with my neighbors and colleagues which are American and I am proud. There is no apology necessary and I am not sorry, if you want freedom look inside yourself.

I dont care if it is politically incorrect to say, in spite of our many great faults and problems, I love America and the people in it and I wouldnt want to live anywhere else in the world.

One day we are going to make this country great again. One day we as a unified nation will get it.

They don't count. Now shush. The middle class white people are talking.

Also they're getting emergency response over two feet of snow. 'Cause shovels are complicated, you know?

Sure ther are hardships, but who would have thought that the mighty U.S of A would treat it's own citizens like they did after katrina. I wouldn't be proud if my country treated it's residents like that. Not sure that is something to pround of. And the fact that you are proud to have a job. Give me a break. The gov't needs you to work so they can waste your money on things like trying to find WMD's and bin laden.

The people of New Orleans are stronger than ever, so are the middle class snow shovelers.

Ok ok just a minute.

On one hand, I am proud of being an American, I am damn proud about it

BUT on the other hand, I seriously do not proud of my government.

Does it make sense ?

That makes perfect sense.

I met an american once , sure , she was loud, over opinionated, her child was obnoxious but she was a really nice lady, but as for the US gov't.....

Yes but you need to stand for truth and not for government. Our gov is messed up no doubt but don't let that cloud your thoughts, the founding fathers were smarter than the corrupt politicians.

And for pretty much the same reasons, I'm proud to be Greek. .
It's good to be proud about your heritage - whatever that may be.
