Seems our military is gearing up for some urban warfare. And TPTB are investing a lot of money in it. Maybe gearing up for the next war?

SAN DIEGO — A mock city roughly the size of downtown San Diego has risen in a remote Southern California desert to train military forces to fight in urban environments. The $170 million urban training center was unveiled Tuesday at the Twentynine Palms military base, 170 miles northeast of San Diego.

The military has been opening a slew of mock Afghan villages at bases across the country to prepare troops for battle before they are deployed. The new training center is one of the largest and most elaborate. Seven separate mock city districts spread across 274 acres of desert. The fake markets, hotels and other businesses are complete with actors who create scenarios that pose a full range of challenges from humanitarian relief efforts to peacekeeping to police work and direct combat, according to the Marine Corps.

Similar immersion training facilities are slated to open this year at Marine Corps bases in North Carolina, Hawaii and Okinawa.

Or could they be gearing up for a little action right here in the states?

Doubtful.

In florida we have camp blanding which is also a city like national guard training area. which btw they rent out and let paintballers use for scenario games. It's pretty awesome.

more than likely this was built to address a lack of training facilities needed by the usmc.

That does sound awesome for the paintballers. Still. There are some possibilities here. Especially in the event of martial law. It will be interesting to see if they send any national guard or police untis there. But I'm a bit cynical anyway. It could be just business as usual.

What they hell is going on, 170 million?? What about the real cities, you know the cities that REAL people live in. I think it's very clear that our government has no care what so ever for the US people. We are paying billions of dollars in taxes to lose our freedom, homes, families! So instead of putting back money into America, were building mock cities??

Maybe when everything is blown to Sh!t, they can build a mock Earth

How many water lines ruptured last year in LA? Our cities are falling apart and we are building fake ones!!!

Detroit, and a few other cities that are falling apart sure could have used that money.
