UFO ice sculpture in Moscow ‘space museum’ park
www.novayagazeta.ru...

The value of this photo essay, to me, is how it demonstrates the
profound nature of the cultural concept of UFOs and alien pilots in Russia.
Kids are playing in this delightful structure under the smiling face of ET.

Thanks goodness they're smiling and therefore, presumably benevolent.

If they weren't and they had the technology to travel between stars, and decided to make trouble for us, I'm guessing they could do that!

Great sculpture and photos!

Is this a playful celebrative atmosphere, using pop culture aliens for fun, or do you think it is a way to de-sensitize an unsuspecting public, or both?

Very creative. Thanks for the link.
If they made those in the states you would probably get arrested for playing on them haha

Please don't bring up that conditioning paranioa here! I thought this would develop into a very nice thread.

I think the paranoia about "conditioning" is starting to get over the line.

What really interests kids about space? UFOs is one of the top things. Hell...alot of people think the idea of UFOs are interesting and fun.

I think thats about the furthest you can take this one.

Usually events like this they just hire a bunch of ice sculptors and tell them a theme... this could have very well just been a decision of one of the artists.
