France and Germany object to any collective NATO presence inside Iraq.

But Mr Zebari says the promised training is needed as a matter of urgency.

I challenge any ATS member to show me where in the World UN peace keeping troops have helped to do anything worthwhile.

Flycatch: They've actually done a whole lot, but mostly not with soldiers. It's a little wacky to think that a whole bunch of guys who are trained to kill are going to be any good at "keeping peace" with rifles and ordnance.

A timeline is here.

Train your own troops, stabalise your country, and get back at Bush. That's it.

I have just reviwed the UN Time Line and my point speaks for itself. Ever Nation they have gone into since 1948 is in some kind of conflict. The United Nations is nothing more than a bureacratic nightmare.
Case in point, Iraq, (food for oil program), a complete disastor.
We the US support the UN and it is time for us to abolish this insidous organization.

The UN and NATO are not the same thing. A NATO force is a more sinister prospect than a UN force. Russia isn't in it for one thing!

You can't abolish it.
You have no authority to do so because it is an International orginization.
You can withdraw from it if you want but how will you get what you want internationally without it?
You would lose your Veto power over UN decisions and you would be less likely to get International support for actions you want against other countries.
