However, the Greek word in this verse is very definitely "flash of lightning"- ASTRAPE
The thought is the same, ie that everybody sees it, but the "lightning flash" image also has that sense of suddenness, which is missing if you go with the "sun" image.
Presumably "from east to west" simply means that it's visible from one horizon to another, and the direction isn't important.
The idea that Jesus needs to travel round the earth in order to be seen by everybody assumes physical limitations which may no longer be applicable.

My response to the claims made about the year 2012 was that I could see no prophetic significance in the date.
This position seems to have been vindicated.

This series was running ten years ago, and has not ceased to be relevant.
