What Can I Say Im on a CIA rant

Operation CHAOS was created to keep track of and gather intelligence from the student movements on various campuses in the US. The reports of Kerry have a FBI file in all likely were really generated by this CIA op within our borders. The project began in 1959 and initaly was aimed at emigres to the US. That soon expanded to Universities. At its peak the database included 300,000 people of interest that were american citizens. Of course domestic spying was not supposed to be done by the CIA.
Its peak was of course caused by the protest that were occuring during the Vietnam war.

With the DCS, the DOD, the old boy network, and the CIA Office of Security operating without congressional oversight or public knowledge, all that was needed to bring it together was a perceived threat to the national security and a presidential directive unleashing the dogs. That happened in 1965 when President Johnson instructed McCone to provide an independent analysis of the growing problem of student protest against the war in Vietnam. Prior to this, Johnson had to rely on information provided by the FBI, intelligence that he perceived to be slanted by Hoover's personal views, which often ignored the facts. Because Hoover insisted that international communism was manipulating student protest, Johnson ordered the CIA to confirm or deny his allegations. All the pieces now came together.

Some of the groups that were of particular interest included:
The organizations, to name a few, included:
Students for a Democratic Society (SDS);
Young Communist Workers Liberation League (YCWLL);
National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam;
Women's Strike for Peace;
Freedomways Magazine and Freedomways Associated, Inc.;
American Indian Movement (AIM);
Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC);
Draft Resistance Groups (U.S.);
Cross World Books and Periodicals, Inc.;
U.S. Committee to Aid the National liberation Front of South Vietnam;
Grove Press, Inc.;
Nation of Islam;
Youth International party (YIP);
Women's Liberation Movement;
Black Panther Party (BPP);
Venceremos Brigade;
Clergy and Laymen Concerned About Vietnam.

No doubt it has been replaced by something else, and Echelon would be the way to go esp since with the edvent of email its alot easier to spy.

Maybe the motto should old CIA ops never die, they get taken over by the NSA
