I have been reading the Post by Human_Alien about the mysterious block of wood found on an iceberg (fascinating & fun...check it out) and it encouraged me to start searching for other strange out of place objects. That said, I came across the following (I am afraid I'm still a neophyte here and haven't yet figured out how to place photos or links in my text-body, but this object is really odd and worth seeing (if someone less technically-challenged than I can subsequently post these photos and links here, I would be grateful).
Enjoy; I think this could be a fascinating thing...I hope it is legit.

The WILLIAMS PETRADOX" or "The WILLIAMS ENIGMALITH"

The circumstances of my discovery: I found my Rock in a rural area, at least 25 feet from the nearest trail (which was dirt and faint), not near any urban areas, industrial complexes, electrical or electronic establishments, nuclear facilities, airports, or military operations (that I was aware of).

The immediate ground was undisturbed. I was hiking in shorts. One of my instruments indicated on the other side of a pair of dense bushes.

I rashly thought that the best way of reaching that area was to pass between the bushes.

However, when I tried, the bushes began to painfully poke and scratch my legs. To get through, I vigorously shuffled my feet and stumbled out onto the other side. Once on the other side, I looked down at my ankles to inspect the damage, and then noticed my Rock a few inches from my heel.

The only thing visible of the component was the tip of its three pins. I immediately recognized the pattern as being similar to that used in electrical connectors, and picked it up.

Click and drag photo to resize.

It was definitely a Rock that I had just kicked up because it had a layer of moist loose dirt and some pliable root strands sticking out of it - evidence that it had been completely buried between or very near the bushes.

I don't know how deep it was buried or the type of soil - perhaps as much as a couple of inches - or exactly where it had laid.

The bushes were fairly large, and of a species that I believe lives for many decades. Once I cleared away the loose dirt and roots, I found that my Rock was encased in a hard layer of dried mud or clay.

I later spent hours scraping, brushing, probing and washing away the mud/clay to get a clear view of my Rock and its component.

For fear of ridicule and Government and skeptics harassment and possible persecution of my family and I to rip-off or destroy my Rock and discredit me, and also to give me the time to try to find some manmade explanation for it, I quietly and secretly held on to it for several years...

I know...Strange, huh? I wasn't able to find if it has been proven to be a hoax...on the contrary, it appears to have been taken quite seriously by many.

What the hell is that?

I have to say Human made-only because of the regular screw head I observed at the other link that someone so nicely posted.

Very interesting. Maybe on to something.

My guess is Late 40's/50's era Electric stuff.

I am going to try and get a hold on an old/retired GE Sylvnia Engineer that I know of (if he is still alive). He worked on things of a secret nature back then-mostly for gov't contracts.

Good find and thanks for bringing here for us to review and wonder.

Here is what I see.

CDROM OFFER!

Buy my stuff!
I am not calling Mr Williams a liar, but that site stinks of commercialism.

Just a shot in the dark:

Remember the Philadelphia experiment, where people and loose stuff got stuck "inside" the ships steel after the experiment.

Maybe this is such a result from wrong going time experiments.

Thanks, anon,...that would be terrific...I think this thing needs to be researched...or at least explained. I hope others here may be able to shed some light on this mysterious object...If real, I cant imagine to what purpose it may have been originally been employed.

I agree with you about Mr. Williams' site...but there are many others regarding this object which do not smack of commerialism.

It looks like an electronic "key" to me. One that is disguised as a rock. I would go back to the bush he kicked it out of and look for the corresponding socket in the ground. Then I would clean it off and insert the rock "key" and see what happened.

Actually, I like the 'KEY' explanation for this thing...It sounds more reasonable to me than that this is an ancient electrical device....The stone does have a high silicon content, however...so perhaps there is some sort of information storage element connected to it...Just a thought.

looks like some kind of plug. Very interesting.... to find this type of object in a natural setting. I wonder who it belonged to?

From what I see it looks like an ancient anchor of some sort, similar to these: books.google.com... oNjrFhOafuK_3O6EIZrKslM&hl=en&ei=_lBATa-ZJNLpgQeMwJ39Ag&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=6&ved=0CDYQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=Ancient%20Stone%20anchors%2 0found%20in%20the%20Mediterranean&f=false

Thank you.

Thanks for posting the photo links IT. I have a hunch that this thing may have info-storage properties and function to it...similar to a hard drive on a computer. Stones with a high crystal content have cyber-electrical properties...along the lines of crystal skulls, if one buys into that area of ancient technology.

My guess would be that it is a sensor embedded in the "rock" part of a security system. It was plugged into a wire at some point. Maybe he knocked it loose from its connection shuffling through the brush.

It would be very interesting to know exactly where it was found and what was in the local area that it may have been protecting.
