Such a beautiful display indeed!

Hopefully no one was hurt but I doubt anyone was. The citizens over there are pretty smart.
Though the tourists, I dunno.

More video here

At least this happens frequently enough that the people there are used to it and likely have functional plans in place to stay safe. Cool to watch though.

Good find my friend. S & F for you.

I first learned about ATS from some friends of mine over at the Eruptions blog, during the Iceland eruption last year.

Here is a link to their article on this eruption, which provides current info, as well as historical summary of activity:

And here is a link to a blog from Monday that lists ALL of the volcano web cams in the world. The host of Eruptions, Erik Klemetti, is amazingly dedicated to the monitoring of volcanos around the world. Enjoy:

So many Volcanoes are going off this year and last year. I remember in 2009 when the ball was about to drop, I joked and said to my parents: haha, watch the sleeping giants wake up next year (meaning in 2010!) wow and how right I was, not so funny any more though!

I would LOVE to be 15 or so miles from that!
Totally beautiful, but I am unfamiliar with the location and nearby infrastructure. I hope all is well in the land of the rising sun!
