I am a fan of art and imagery but these are some of the coolest pictures I have come across! I do believe something big is upon us and I just recently started reading into post-apocalyptic concepts. Follow the link for similar 45 images...note most of these are large enough for backgrounds. The picture set contains mostly cities, which include New York and London.

EDIT to add this picture I couldn't find buried in my computer...I always liked this one the best.

I love surrealism - this artist seems to be focusing on doom. BTW do you know the artist name? Thanks for sharing these amazing images. And let's hope it remains art and not reality!

You are certainly welcome for the images. I know they focus on doom but this could be reality someday. Sorry but I don't know the names of the artists.

I've always been drawn to post-apocalyptic images and art as well. Here are some from the film "Logan's Run" starring Michael York:

By looking at the scenery alone....I think I might be able to survive the second and the last picture. Other than that...I probably am with my last cigar if you know what I mean.

Love the pictures, just like the movies. Having said that, if you believe in Armageddon, the end times, then you must be a Christian. It says Armageddon is a battle that is stopped and that Jesus reigns on earth for a thousand years. I don't believe in an end to this world in the manner of others. But, the pictures are great and show great imagination. Be well.

There is a TV show entitled "Life without people" or "Life after people". It is well worth watching in order to get the so called experts opinion of what the world would be like after we have gone. It is a great social experiment.

I'm glad you all enjoy the pics as much as I do. The flower in that last picture gives me hope.
