I want to research certain topics myself and try to discern 'the facts' as much as is possible from fellow researchers/ reporters.

To me, seems obvious - avoid corporation owned news media ( I think many of you guys term them MSM?). Also want to avoid 'opinionated' based websites - e.g. those that have decided that 'aliens are demons' or 'all religion is made by the CIA' etc.

So, despite finding some places that 'seem' independent and genuine..... e.g. 'A Daily TV', I wonder which places other experienced ATS members use for (as far as can be) genuine news / research?

If you're capable of discerning fact from sensationalism I suggest:

Many ATS members will vehemently disagree of course but I've answered your question nonetheless.

Some of those independents are corporate owned on the sly. And most news sites have a bias, MSM or "alternative". What you want, is to look at the article they've written, and dissect it. Use google to get a bio on the author. Google for keywords and phrases in the article. Look at other sites who have posted it, and see where their sourcing it from. You get the idea.

My point is, I "rely" on none of them. But I check several even if I don't agree with their slant.

Freedomsphoenix
raidersnewsnetwork - be sure to check their "facts"
stevequayle - posts articles of interest from different sites

These are some of my oddball links. I check them because sometimes I find stuff there I might not have seen otherwise. So even with the religious slant the last two have, I've caught some very interesting stuff.

as i look at the sites so far posted this is just my view no better no worse than cnn yahoo Google abc nbc msnbc cbc or nasa jpl usgs, or this one www.sott.net... it is a luck of the draw if 5 or more have the same news then it is part truth, for if your not there to see it, hear it, and or feel nor taste it then it might not be true.

I'm kinda surprised no one has mentioned RENSE.com yet.

I know some people have a problem with it, but I go there every day because they have a LOT of links to different articles from different places. As a matter of fact, a lot of good places I check every now and then have come from there.

The thing to remember is to SCROOGLE (a more private search engine) the subject if you find some information you want to follow up on.

Another thing I will do is once I follow a link, I will quickly scan the other headlines on the page to see if there is anything else of interest being linked, then follow, follow, follow.

Sometimes I will end up with 20 tabs open.

Good Luck and don't get discouraged by the state of the world, I have it on good authority (I think) that things turn out all right in the end.

God bless,

sezsue
