From what I hear, the individual was showing aggressive behaviour and made wild threats - in other words, in a idiot. But under post-911 anti-terrorism laws it is common for jets to escort planes.

It does seem a little over reactive, having a RAF escort for a threatening passenger. In all honesty what could they possibly do if that passenger (in a worst case scenario) decided to detonate a bomb or similar.

Going to watch out for this and see what else is released.

with all the airline propaganda in movies and TV telling people "head down shut up" on planes and in airports, it seems even the flight attendants are getting power hungry and using their power of accusation to make people quiet little subjects.

The Prime Minister would then be in a dilema weither or not to authorise those Pilots to fire on that airliner. They had this drill before, supposingly. After 9/11 The Cobra committee ran simulations where the final say to shoot down a airliner over the skys of london rested with the then prime minister Blair.

Typhoons at least they are being used, after the amount of taxpayers money that costs to build them

Thank goodness thnothing untoward occured. And everyone was safe.
