*that's the title used by the Young Communist League .... Not sure if this is politics or education ...

The Young Communist League website announcement

The Red School-Bus Tour is starting February 18th in Los Angeles, California. This will be the first of four regional schools starting in LA and ending in the North East. The rest of the tour will include TX, the South East and the North East with about one school a month. A full schedule will be posted soon with all the stops and dates as details are arranged.

The School in Los Angeles like all the stops on the tour will be over a weekend and feature local Party and YCL leaders as well as National YCL and Party Leaders both speaking and teaching. And of course we will have rich cultural events in between sessions.

Their attitude .... not all peaches and cream .. They say that they are in favor of peace, unless they dont' get their way then they support violence. Lovely .. just lovely (sarcasm) ...

From the Young Communist League website -
www.youtube.com...

Southern California Young Communist League Website

We do not believe in violence simply as a means to an end. However, we support all forms of revolution, which historically have included violent forms but only were they successful or lasting and positive when the circumstances had called for it, when the assessment was correct (under fascism, extremely repressive and life-threatening conditions are set in place and creates justifiable responses) and ultimately if the end result is the achievement of a democratic, just society. That being said, peaceful forms are the most ideal conditions for any revolution.

And what they say about what will be going on with their Red School-Bus tour -

"lively classes and discussions:Marxism and the Political Moment: Building the movement for change; The Crisis of Capitalism Today: Causes of Crisis and the Class Struggle; Working Class and the Labor Movement; Racism, Immigrant Rights, women’s rights, LGTB rights and the struggle for equality; The CPUSA and YCL, envisioning Bill of Rights Socialism and how to get there. Also plenty of cultural, social and recreational activities."

Young Communists Launch National ‘Red School-Bus Tour’

The tour is set to make stops in Los Angeles, Texas, Florida, and the Northeast between February and April. So if you you see a large, red school bus rolling down the street, it’s not Elmo peddling free internet, it’s just your friendly neighborhood communists

PO'ed Patriot - blog with info

As you cruise around your home town this year, you may see a Red Bus full of young people displaying communist flags and shirts passing you by. No Need to Worry, they are just Communists who Support Violent Revolution.

The Southern California(SoCal) Young Communist League(YCL), a branch of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) Young Communist League, is planning to hold "Educational Classes" about "Marxism and the Political Movement". They plan to have these Communist "Schools" in 4 Different Cities Across the United States between February and April of this Year.

Lovely. Just what our schools need. :shk: I'm wondering what schools they'll be stopping at and who gave those schools permission to have them stop there. The NEA (National Education Association) teachers union leans very far left .. wonder what they have to say about this .. if anything at all. I can't find a response from them. Would the schools have to give the Young Communist Leage permission or would they have to invite them?

Can you picture a school bus tour full of Republicans making the rounds like this?
OH the response!

Schools have clubs .. young democrats .. young republicans .. etc.
But this is different. It's an outside force coming into the schools.

The first school on the list is 1251 So. St. Andrews Place Los Angeles, California.
Any ATSers in California wanna' be an ATS reporter?
Give the school a call and ask what is going on?
Let's find out if this is even real or not. They might be blowing hot air ..

Who in the world is allowing them to make stops at public schools
Wow! I can't wait to see the reception for this bus in Texas. I can see the bus being welcomed with open arms on our nation's extreme coasts but Texas?? Hmmm.

I see no stops planned for the Midwest. Perhaps they can add Chicago to the tour schedule.

Is Van Jones driving this bus??

This tour actually leaves me a little dumbfounded. I guess that's the benefit of living in a free nation.

This will be a fun event to follow!!!

That's what I want to know. For the time being, we have only one school listed on their list of stops. I gave the information in the Opening Post. If anyone in california wants to look it up and check it out .. GREAT! At this time, the YCL is saying what states but not which schools .. yet. I'm wondering if they have schools lined up or if they are just in the works ...

Someone in California has to check this out. Either that or we need a brave ATS newshound to go undercover and sign up at the website and find out the info .. then get back and post here! Ahhhh .. conspiracy detection work!

I looked up the address and it comes up as the office for Communist Party USA. www.cpusa.org...

Perhaps they may steer clear of our public schools and just visit local communist franchises along the route. I feel a connection to La Raza somewhere in this story. I'll dig deeper.

Remember the "one nation working together rally" back in Oct. 2010?

In 2008, the Communist Party USA saw Obama's candidacy as a way to advance their agenda. In a 2008 editorial, the CPUSA wrote, "A broad multiclass, multiracial movement is converging around Obama’s “Hope, change and unity” campaign because they see in it the thrilling opportunity to end 30 years of ultra-right rule and move our nation forward with a broadly progressive agenda."

Continue reading on Examiner.com: Communist Party USA, other progressive groups to converge on Washington, D.C. this weekend - Spokane Conservative | Examiner.com www.examiner.com...< br />
Communist Party USA posted an interesting letter on Obama's own Organizing for America website prior to the Oct. Rally. Yes a website organized by our President.

Some highlights

“There has been one major omission in much of this analysis: the absence of pressure from Americans across the country demanding that serious action be taken to address climate change. Few Americans are currently engaged in this great societal challenge in a way that would generate the necessary political will to act. It is the absence of this public pressure, above all else [my italics], that has resulted in the current state of political inaction.”

Both the protracted economic downturn (with no end in sight) and the comeback of the extreme right beg for a sustained mobilization of every democratic-minded person in our country. At the core of this mobilization should be the multi-racial working class (broadly defined) and its allies.

If there is any other way to keep right-wing extremism and its capitalist class supporters at bay – not to mention undertake large-scale political and economic transformations in a progressive and radical direction – I don’t know what it is.

Initiatives and openings of a democratic and progressive character from above – say from the president – are certainly important (for example, a jobs and infrastructure bill), especially if they can be leveraged by the people’s coalition to widen and deepen the process of change.

And this little gem of wisdom

And finally, it will be measured by the extent that the coalition that has been quiescent since 2008 regains its legs, turns into a sustained force, and powers the struggle for progressive and radical change in the near and longer term.

I just hope these young kids don't show up with any ACTUAL attempts to be violent in my city. That kinda crap doesn't go over too well around here.

As long as they keep it peaceful and don't try to bring on some fantasy revolution I'm good.

They can preach about their little fantasy land all they want with their utopian ideology and communist revolution. Our Constitution allows all idiots a voice. However I don’t expect them to get far with it because Americans are generally a people opposed to the values of Communism.

Freedom, justice, and republicanism are core American tenants and we will not take kindly to Communists threatening us with violence. Lest we forget while us Americans all have a right to gun ownership, not all people own a gun, and let’s just look at who exactly owns the weapons overwhelmingly here. It’s certainly not the Communists.

Besides did I read this wrong? They are going to public schools to talk about Communist Revolution? And I wonder if these were Christian conservatives or Liassez-faire capitalism if they would too be allowed to visit public schools to speak about their ideologies?

It's unclear. They claim to be on something like a cross country tour that will include schools in different states. They haven't listed the schools (yet?) so we can't check on them to see if this is real, or if this is just some kind of strange communist fantasy.

On their website they first claim to be peaceful but then say if they don't get their way they do advocate violence. The video I posted a link to (You Tube) is of them, and it's a bit gruff for folks who are 'peaceful' IMHO.

What a bizarre thread. Americans dislike violent revolution?

Communism itself is predicated on violence.

It is impossible to have voluntary peaceful interactions if people do not own themselves and the product of their labor.

For if one does not own the product of their own labor, then someone else must own it.

And if someone else owns it, they must necessarily be entitled to use violence in order to obtain it from you if you do not willingly give it to them.

There are people on both sides of the political spectrum that salivate at the idea of spilling blood and causing chaos. I'm not one of them.

This is not to say that I would not defend the nation should they abolish elections, or something equally egregious, but as of yet that doesn't seem to be on the docket.

I like my neighbors. Revolutionaries, a good chunk of them communists, love some violence but most Americas don't wake up every day thinking about what to lash out against.

Good! We all have the right to believe what ever we want. So they wanna be commies.. that's fine. Id take communism over this fascism any day.. at least under communism the people benefit (theoretically) fascism its the corporations.

And every one in some form supports violent revolution.. whether they admit it or not. I do. Its a very productive form of change, be it for better or worse.

Our country would not exist without it.
