Well, I guess that there aren't enough Americans walking around as medicated zombies, and the Administration has to use our tax dollars to support the ailing (pun intended) pharaceutical industry.

With Main Street breathing it's last dying breath, this is exactly what the US needs to recover. Go tax dollars at work!

The pharmaceutical industry isn't ailing.
The share owners just want bigger returns.

The FDA refuses to grant approval on drugs that cure the disease but will allow hazardous and poorly or falsely documented drugs that simply require indefinite use to treat the symptoms. This insures a steady income for the pharmaceutical companies.

Now we will get a government drug program for products that cost more and work less....all subsidized by taxes.

Great.

Need to log in for link to work.

This looks like a clear corporatist scam. As if the drug companies don't already have enough control over the FDA, now they are getting the government to foot the bill for all their research as well. So what happens when a new drug is developed? Licence is sold a drug manufacturer who sits back and reaps in more profits. The government are good are running vital services but lousy at running business. With all the problems in the economy and out of control spending someone needs their head checked.
