i want to remain open minded about this. As much as these stories are entertaining, i dont see much between this, and sitting around a fire telling ghost stories that happened to a friend of a friend of mine.

The closest I can come to a story of this type is one related by my father and confirmed by my mother. The last time they traveled back east to Florida from Utah in a car they went through New Mexico. On the trip my father noticed that they had constructed a new four lane highway in New Mexico and thought how green and lush the landscape looked, he assumed maybe they took a little bit different path on the new highway and purposely went through some prettier country. He was used to a drier landscape in New Mexico with a few scattered pines, etc. Upon returning through the same route he was looking forward to seeing the same forest he encountered the previous time. However, it wasn't there, they (he and my mother) never found it, things looked more like how they had when the old road was there. He also commented that he didn't even think the trees were the same type.

I remember in 1996 I was laying on my bed doing some homework and I had my door closed. I remember turning on my side looking towards the door when a few moments later to my surprise someone opened my door and was about to take a step in. Now this didn't last too long but it was startling and I remember all the thoughts flowing through my head. At first I thought we were being robbed then I realized the kids face who looked about the same age had the same look of shock. I remember from his clothes he looked like he stepped right out of the 1920's, he then recoiled in fear and slammed my door.

Then my mom hearing my door slam comes to investigate, she opens the door asking what the heck I was doing slamming doors. I told her what happened and that I thought maybe it was a ghost, her reply was Sour Lake was an old town and there were houses where ours were all the way back to the mid 1800's. Her reckoning was time bled together or something like that. We had other weird things happen at the house I came to found out later that the previous owners who had built this particular house passed away, you want to guess which room they died in??

For me it is impossible to time travel, not in the past not in the future ..... why ? because you never can recreate the SAME environment /surroundings you did leave when you come back !!!
Think about it : the whole universe is moving : when you leave place A at time A' the sun, the earth and the whole Universe are in a place A at time A' - all the atoms and protons and photons etc are at that place.
Meanwhile all universe is moving, one hour later at time B' sun and earth and moon will be at place B within the galaxy, all atoms ( the car in the street, the planes in the air ) will have moved : now how can you leave at time A' and come back at time B' and find sun/earth/cars/planes etc on the same place again ??? would mean nothing did move meanwhile, only you did move in a flash and come back in a flash ??? impossible !

NOW : what I really think that is possible are parallel universes ! if you for example believe in ghosts or in a afterlife, or in UFO's, then those entities have to live somewhere, yes they live in parallel worlds with different timelines maybe, worlds we normally can not be aware of except in some rare circumstances like the stories tell us ....

So, when you vanish from one parallel universe to the other, well you vanish : just like UFO's do, just like that ship in Philadelphia Experiment, just like NDE's ...... When you come back, you vanish out of that parallel world and reappear in this one.

I am sure, all those stories are just travel into parallel universes we cann't see with our senses !!!

In fact it's all about ENERGY levels, matter is just one level, there are lots of levels !!!

I am personally on the fence , leaning towards it being possible from a theoretical point of view but one thing that gets me in stories of time travelers that go back in time (because I never saw this mentioned when somebody supposedly goes into the future) is , how can anybody buy anything ? I mean money changes over time , and I bet You if I wanted to pay for something with money that has no been printed yet (and probably looks different ) I would be arrested for fraud .

That discredits most of the stories for me sadly :/ Unless somebody gives me a good explanation how you can buy something with the wrong type of money

parallel universes easily can explain then entanglement as well in time as in space : subatomic
" particles " can exist on different energy levels so one " particle " ( I do not like that word, because they are all just pure energy " orbs " or entities .... ) can be stretched out in different parallel worlds moving at different timelines in different
" spaces " on different energy levels .... look at it like at water : can be a fluid, a invisible vapour, a ice block, all different energy levels, all different states but allways all the same subatomic particles ...
so one particle is in different parallel universes at the same time, stretched out everywhere, entangled with itself in those levels of energy.
That is what I think, but who am I ???

Sorry to be a downer, but I can see this turning from a fun thread with stories to a thread about debunking and whether or not time travel is even possible.

Can we leave the theory and debunkers for another thread and just keep this one fun?

Awesome. Love the one about the old car. Temporal mechanics are a complete fascination of mine. The concept of vortices and eddies of time open great windows various paranormal experiences.

I had had an experience myself once of similar nature. Many years ago, I lived in Maryland. I bought a car, and was on my was to the DMV. It was either in Frederick, or I had to drive through Frederick. I took an exit to get gas, and now being off of I 95 I got lost. I had found my way into a small town and a neighborhood. I pulled into a gas station and asked for directions, and didn't see anyone. I found a payphone, and called a good friend of mine who worked at Johns Hopkins. After telling me where I was, he said nowhere in the state of Maryland did those two streets intersect at all, and he couldn't help. This was the early 90s, So I decided to drive. I drove about 30 miles before I found a road that lead to I-95. Three miles from the point of entering the interstate, I saw a great deal of construction equipment developing, as it later turned out, a neighborhood.

So, it's always confused me how I could have somewhere that didn't exist yet? And how could driving 30-40 miles north lead me to a point that only three miles south of where I first exited the interstate.

Interestingly enough, as I was driving, I saw something in the sky that I had never seen before. I immediately thought "UFO" because it seemed to shimmer in the light. What I saw that I'd never seen before, was exactly how a flock of birds could be mistaken for something else. Seriously, I believed there was no way to confuse the two, but it happened.

Oh my God, this could explain an event in my life and my father's life that I never thought about in such detail...

It was March 19 2008, late afternoon, we were returning home from a city we went in so many times, but all of a sudden my father can't recognize the street and we are lost in the dark...
We lose ONE hour wondering in the dark trying to recollect the right way to go and finally we find the way home...

I recognize that day as a very fateful day because so many things are changed since that day...But I never thought about a time slip until now...

That same night, I met a boy who than I was going to discover that me and this boy shared all the friends, same friends but I've never met him before that day...Like he came out from nothing...

The following month was the freakiest of my life, I had some experiences I would read about later the same experiences some ATSers had in 2008...

The sun's light was more bluish and the sun was more shining, so much that I had to wear sun glasses in May, for two weeks, something I never did, because I usually start wearing sunglasses in July.

The sun-light changed in mid- May 2008, but life was never the same for me anymore...
I still meet almost everyday this boy who came out to share all my friends from nothing...

I went from not knowing about him to meeting him almost everyday with my friends since that very day...

Did we change universe? Cool way to explain all this stuff...

ALSO: We never went to that city anymore after that day...But we planned to return this year in a few weeks...
