...According to officials who have seen the video...

...The tapes are in the custody of the FBI...

...won't likely be released until trial...

...video obtained from the Safeway supermarket...

So a supermarket filmed the event and the FBI confiscated it and won't release. Sound familiar?

How is this not a cover-up if the FBI is withholding crucial information such as

Who was shot first?
How many bullets were fired?
Did John Roll really save Gifford's life? Or was this simply propaganda to make it seem like Roll was not the intended target?
Did Loughner reload? How was he able to fire off 32 rounds? Was there no security at all? If you remember the school board incident in Florida, the disgruntled man was shot by a guard at the school moments after he started to fire. (That man also missed every single shot, why was Loughner so accurate?)

Apparently they want us to once again trust the officials who viewed the video. I'm not buying it.

How about a little common decency and respect for the families and loved ones of the dead? For crying out loud, their corpses are barely cold and you want the whole world to freely view a disgusting snuff film? Let the authorities have a chance to do their jobs................

I heard the tapes might be released after the trial has started, not before.

On your link there is a video there, most of its CGI but even the reporter
states in the video that the tapes will not be released soon most likely after
the trial starts/finishes.

I don't think there is a cover up with the video,
I think they want to have a jury that had not seen all of the stuff yet and
has not already made their minds up of guilty or innocent.

I haven't really seen any court case where they release every piece of evidence before trial just for those reasons.

oh no, that was some sort of high school genocide rant he made. Not interested in even watching that and if he has his shirt off I even more so don't want to watch it. No this one is regards the shooting, which you have not seen.

Exactly. Not to mention, good luck finding an impartial jury should it get to that point...as if the pool isn't already tainted enough in these high profile cases. If enough things start screaming "coverup," that's another story, but even then this would still be only part of the picture. This in and of itself indicates nothing and is standard protocol.

Well said.

The only thing I would add is that they are already planning to move Laughner's trial out of state because of the tainted jury pool, where would he go if the country was watching the video, even snippets?

No, I don't want to watch 16 people be murdered or shot.

You people who say they can't release the video because it would be tampering with the jury, try and find 12 people who haven't heard this story. Go ahead, I'd like to see that.

See right there, you would not make jury, nine year old girl murdered. What if the video shows some one bumping the girl INTO line of fire cause they were panicking? We only know what is fed to us, if you want to see the videos before trial I suggest heading over to the court house and asking to see them, or better yet see if the 3 amigos will give you an ATS press pass to watch the case and report back to us ( I would but I'm not in AZ )

I understand about not finding 12 people that don't know what happened, I can find 12 or more that only know what the news tells them, they don't have internet to read beyond the tv/newspaper. I can also find 12 or more that don't even remember the names of the victims or the shooter go figure

So the only people who are suitable to be juries are people who don't watch tv or read newspapers and basically live in isolation on the outskirts of society? Then why would releasing the video be damaging if they are so out of it they won't see it to begin with? Seriously that's like saying the FBI had to confiscate the 9/11 tapes because then a jury might be impartial.

Police: Security Footage Shows AZ Judge Died Saving Another Man

Last week he was called “fair” and “just.” Today, Judge John Roll, the federal judge killed in the Tucson shooting, is being called a hero.

Police say security footage from the Safeway store where the shooting occurred shows accused gunman Jared Loughner walking up to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and shooting here at close range — the video shows only a wisp of her hair, however. Loughner then turns and begins firing indiscriminately into the crowd.

“He wheels this direction and that direction firing,” Chris Nanos, a captain with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department who has viewed the video, told the Wall Street Journal.

The Journal explains what happens next in the video with 63-year-old Judge Rolls:

As the shooting starts, the video shows Judge Roll pushing another man, Rob Barber, onto the ground, Mr. Nanos said. “It looks to us as though he is pushing against Ron Barber to move him out of the way.” Both men fall to the ground; both are shot. The judge was shot in the back and died.

The New York Times quotes Richard Kastigar, another investigator in the case, in explaining the incident this way:

The judge guides Mr. Barber to the ground, shields him with his body, and then tries to push himself and Mr. Barber away from the gunman, who was no more than three to four feet away as he fired, Mr. Kastigar said.

“He pushes Mr. Barber with his right hand and guides him with his left hand. The judge was on top of him and is covering up Mr. Barber, literally lying on top of him, and his back was exposed,” Mr. Kastigar said.

“It’s pretty evident to me that Judge Roll was a hero … if Judge Roll had not pushed Mr. Barber his wounds might have been fatal,” Nanos told the Journal . “Judge Roll‘s actions are of a man trying to save another man’s life.”

While the video shows Barber, Loughner, and Roll, the camera’s angle blocks other victims from view. However, the video does lead investigators to think that Giffords was the target because it shows a man running past a concrete pillar, and shooting Giffords at close range.

“There’s no hesitation. Once he gets around the pillar, it’s obvious what his intent is. That’s why we believe his target was exactly who we thought it was,” Nanos told the Journal.

No I don't but this is what we do have, so far, now if the video is ever released we can compare.
