South Korean Buddhists Pray for Dead Animals

abcnews.go.com

Hundreds of South Korean Buddhist monks and believers offered prayers Wednesday for more than 1.93 million cows, pigs and other animals that have been put to death in the country's worst outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease.

The Buddhists endured subfreezing temperatures to hold the rite at Jogye Temple, the headquarters of the Jogye Order, South Korea's largest Buddhist sect

They prayed for these animal might find there way into heaven.

I think that is really cool of them, but I also think the lives these animals must have lived, would have been in a concentration camp style farm.

We seem to be surrounded by death, both explained and unexplained.

Perhaps these monks should also be praying for all of us as well.

You can be sure most of these animals had more of a heart than most humans.

Good for those monks, not sure i agree.

the sheer numbers are amazing, almost 2 million killed as a preventative measure.

From the article they are to give muscle relaxants then kill then bury these animals, but many are saying there being buried alive,

This story has the very best of humanity and the very worst of humanity.

And what they do not say is the horrific manner in which they are murdered, they are very sensitive and have senses we as humans would go crazy mad insane if we felt but an ounce of.

Bless the Monks and I send my love, strength and encouragement to them for bring this awareness to humanity, teaching by example.

Thanks so very much for sharing such a heart-warming story with us. I believe that the rest of humanity could learn a great deal from those selfless Monks.
