Unusually cold year in Sweden

2010 was the coldest year in Sweden for more than two decades, which made the country into a real outsider in one of Earth´s warmest year so far.

It was the coldest year for the last 23 years there. Compared to most other countries for 2010 thats saying a lot. Is this climate change in the making? This is sad news to me as Sweden is one possible choice I might one day move to. I don't really enjoy the cold too much though so I may have to move it down a few notches on my list.

I should know better? That's the first time I've posted any news in Breaking Alternative News. I had no idea. Thanks for your input?

This article fits in with a lot of other articles regarding this winter seeing particularly bad weather and cold temperatures.

Here in SW Virginia it hasn't been particularly cold this year, though... Lucky us, so far.


But man I have to give you props on the thread title. I know it's going to be changed but you made me laugh out loud.

Glad the title made someone laugh before I had to change it haha... I wasn't aware that it had to be the same title as the source. Anyway, where I am at the weather changes every couple days... They have a saying here in my state, if you don't like the weather here, wait a couple days, it'll change. It really does too.

P.S. were you planning to comment on the article or just mess around with me for my mistake?

I went to Sweden in January last year and just before we landed there they had a storm blow in which went took the temp. down to -18. It is not unusual to get such storms but it was a bit on the more severe side than normal, plus they seem to be getting more of them. Friends there seem to think it is getting colder in the winter there atleast

Australia had some of its coldest weather last year.

I think we may see a trend of cooler weather, with harsh winters and lots of flooding. This will lead to higher food and fuel prices around the globe.

Things havn't gotten bad enough yet to determine if we will have another little ice age or even worse a dryas (think Day After Tommorow). If either happens, it will be apocalyptic.

I am trying to sort this out... with all the hype about the UK I've read a number of articles from specialists saying how this year (tho colder) is actually more in keeping with a traditional British year.. and that is why all our native animal species are thriving

My question would be are these unusual colds that are being reported a return to traditional winters or not.. this is the part I am not clear on in the media spin.

So the fact that it says:"(Must be the exact same headline as used in the news story you're submitting.)" right underneath the place where you enter the headline didn't help create awareness?

Actually I think much of Europe is not seeing as much of the global warming as the rest of the world, so it's not just Sweden, is it?

I stayed in Sweden for 2 weeks after attending the G20 and that winter was not much better .Second line
