I am actually a amateur astronomer and was looking forward to watching tonight, but alas unfortunately we have cloud cover as well

Unfortunately I don't think it will be visible in Australia, but I was just looking at spaceweather ssd.jpl.nasa.gov... and it would seem that it will actually come as close as .0021 AU that's pretty danged close. If it was bigger I bet there would be a lot of eyes on the skies to make sure it didn't alter course lol.
