Morning! You are up and about to early for me.

First thing that went through my head this morning - without being prompted by anything s I had only just opened my eyes - was:

Extinction
Level
Event
Now
In
November

I don't remember dreams ever (well a few very vaguely in my life) and I go to sleep within a minute of hitting the pillow so if this was the tail end of a dream it was a rare event for me!

Nowt like a bit of scaremongering first thing in the morning! Off to read the rest of the posts since I went to bed,

I have adopted comet Elenin as my new hobby for the coming months. I came across this ladies blog in regards to comet Elenin, she seems to update it regularly. Comet Elenin

WOW Just watched the predicted animation of the comet's path! Thats showing it coming VERY close to Earth

Also you mentioned that this body was from the Oort Cloud. That's not 3,600 yrs away.

You are correct that I did indeed say:

which was probably an error on my part but then I am more into earthquakes than stellar bodies.

Wikipedia says:

The Oort cloud (pronounced /'?rt/ ort, alternatively the Öpik-Oort cloud IPA: ['øpik]) is a hypothesized spherical cloud of comets which may lie roughly 50,000 AU, or nearly a light-year, from the Sun.

I had picked up that is hyothetical but leaving that aside for a moment if it is 1 light year from the Sun could it not have come from there?

It was the article that I referred to in the OP that said:

2. Among the observable hyperbolic and parabolic comets (those that come from the Oort cloud) this one has the smallest perihelion distance and the smallest inclination to the ecliptic plane.

and introduced the Oort word!

That having been said this comet still has to pass through the Taurids, and looking at a link from the WP article, also has to negotiate the Kuiper belt.

Since a 3600 year orbit would place this in the region to 1000 to 1500 Au at it's furthest point (I am guessing based on covering 300 Au since 1600 AD) it does have to pass this belt and could have an 'encounter' on the way.

Just as a matter of interest, since I am not up in these things, does that not mean that Nibiru as a planet round a brown dwarf twin sun could not come every 3600 years - or is it supposed to be longer than than?

You have to be kidding! There are too many coincidences turning up with this thing! That make my blood go cold. I know it is only a film but who knows from whence the inspiration? What ethereal influences upon the writer?

It looks like it will pass even closer to Venus and Mercury than to Earth. I would think even if it only hit one of those there might still be a huge affect on Earth.

I had not even considered that!

This G-D thread is just blowing my shi_ in the weeds. It was just a few years back (2007) that movie Deep Impact, was getting massive air time here in So. Calif. Over a six month period I know for a fact that movie was on at least three times a week.
I even said to the wife, Gee I wonder if their try'in to tell us something again?"
So what do we have?
The comets name is elenin. the first three letters of two numbers eleven and nine make up the name of the comet. Ele nin
The kids name was LEO.
The President was played by someone who could pass as half white and half black.
I'm sure I can find more of this creepy crappy stuff too. What a whacky ass world this really is .

It arrives at the predicted end of the Mayan 5th Sun. It may be the Hopi Blue Star.

Here is a link from wiki about the film Deep Impact

In the film it says the comet is 7 mile wide. When they fail to destroy the comet it brakes into two pieces and one piece hits the Atlantic ocean destroying north & south America, along with Europe and parts of Africa

And yes there do seem to be a lot of "coincidences" in regards to Elenin and Ele. I guess we will have to wait for more info on this comet and of course the golden question how big is it????

Yeah, I suppose we get to live in the most interesting of times, the earth has ever seen? BTW, a hand stinging high five for this one puter. I know I told my wife that more than once about that movie being run over and over and over and over. When she wakes up it's the first thing she 's gonna hear.
