It's surprising how many people believe the latter. Woman accidentally gets knocked up outside of marriage because condoms aren't invented. Chance of getting stoned to death. God did it

Indeed Genghis Khans mum had the same problem thank god he didn't do any magik tricks or there would be yet another one of a whole host of invisible born again baster's for you to get on your knees to.

nah he could beam it in! still artificial. hey, captain pickard can speak a cup of tea into existence. the more we find out about science, the more obvious it is that the things that have been said to be myths because they weren't possible, are found to be possible after all. so now the new thing is, science didn't exist back then.

riiiiiiiiiight.

I'm not that old, to be honest. But do so, then in another show insult Christians similarly and maybe Hindus for good measure. Tell me how the experiment goes.

Yeah no I could tell by your dare comment, my response was sarcasm.

But yes I will.... I will insult all religions and see how it goes, thanks.

I know it was sarcasm. I just don't want to play the game.

No, insult them individually each time, not all at once.

Now don't go mixing oranges with apples. You know full well that people like the good James Randi are not experts in any of those "fields" and yet still go ahead and reasonably debunk them in our modern times.

So please don't try cheap shots like that. It's kind of pathetic.

Of course there are problems here.... every country has it's problems.
As far as this specific "problem"... then no, I don't think it is a problem.

Why should one group be favoured more than anyone else.... why should Christians have it any better or easier than anyone else.

I wouldn't say the UK is paradise at all.... but as a secular society, with laws to protect everyone and universal healthcare and free museums and many other "socialist" things in place.... I'd say we have it pretty good here.

I can't complain.

I believe Kim Jong Il was also born of a virgin. One statement in the long list of ways he is unique
Another being that he does not urinate or defecate

So god (who is not a human therefore does not have the same DNA as humans) donates sperm (for some reason everyone assumes god is a human and male) which produces an offspring (Jesus). Occam's razor, the simplest explanation is often the correct one. That is in no way simple
I think the adultery one is the simplest explanation

Science still existed, it was just nowhere near the standards we are at now

i guess then it really isn't fair of me to comment on it, since i don't live there and have only the reports of people who do, to go on. here in the usa it's been hostile to some degree, for quite some time but not from muslims. mostly from atheists. . i mean, where else can you live, turn on the TV and hear a newsman getting all bent out of shape about a religious group (stereotyping the whole lot of them) and still have some of those people he just insulted, vote for the party he's defending during his rant? nowhere. i don't think such a place, other than here, exists. lol

Well in this case you have one guy's opinion.... Jeremy Vine.
You can obviously research and have an informed opinion, I'm not saying my opinion is right and yours is wrong, merely based on geographical location...... but I guess we all have ideas about other countries.

All I'm saying is living here, this is not an issue.

There have been a few Bishops say a similar thing and now Jeremy Vine, who hosts a talk-show on a popular radio station here, says the same thing..... they know their religion is less popular and fading out and they're desperate.

As I pointed out several posts back.... church numbers have dropped dramatically....religion in general is on the decline now in the UK.... and It's not that Atheism is on the rise, it's just that people don't want to be affiliated with any religion or church... their beliefs are their own and deeply personal to them.

It used to be that the Father/Priest was one of the main guys in your town or village... like the local policeman... everyone knew them in the parish and everyone respected them.

Times have changed.... attitudes have changed and people have moved away from all that.

I went to religious Primary and Secondary schools.... and never believed any of it

Well we have a saying in the UK.....

"Only in America"

So yeah.... I agree.

We don't really have too much religion on TV, if any?

No God channels.... no Atheist channels.... nothing.

So the news is usually impartial regarding religion.... apart from maybe blaming Muslims for stuff.... but hey, that's the norm in the west I'm sure.

are they blaming them for stuff or are they only showing their crimes or is there an inordinate amount of crime in their communities due to poverty and/or extremism ?

I made no claims to who the experts are, you assert that you do so please continue and provide the details of the miracle measures.

Again if (as you claim) your experts are qualified to judge a miracle then there is nothing unique being assess.

No apples and oranges my friend it is you that is asserting the attributes of a god and I have presented Sai Baba that absolutely fits your requirements.

I am using your own set of requirements.

Out of my entire post you pick that..... :shk:

Well you must have noticed the trend in the last decade?

Show some angry mob in the middle east..,. mention terror threat a few times a day.... foiled bomb plot and so on and talk about moderate or extremist Muslims.

Like there are only two types... either Moderates or Extremists.

I'm just saying, Muslims have it much worse than any other religion right now.

But I also said much more in my post and we could discuss that too if you like?

oh isnt that interesting. i saw a report on nasa's website, in which they had a study on what types of biological engineering and hybridization would allow humans to travel to and explore distant planets. one of the first things they described was rewiring the digestive system so that defacation wouldn't be necessary. maybe they tried it on him first.

Indeed and in all fairness the majority don't try and ram it down your throat, I also detect in them an escalating sens of embarrassment not necessary for deistic but for the fundie types that are influenced by US style spiritual marketing.
